For about a week now the news making waves is that some leaders of Ezeagu went to meet his Excellence Barr, Sullivan Chime and demanded that Udi people conceded the federal House of Representatives seat to them because His Excellency is going for Enugu West Senatorial Seat. Their argument is that we cannot have the two at the same time

Facts: 1. In 1996 Senator Ben Collins Ndu and Hon. Cosmas Eziechi represented Enugu West and Udi/Ezeagu respectively in the Senate and Federal House of Representatives at the same time under the defunct UNCP.
2. Ezeagu has now occupies our federal House of Representatives seat for Twelve years running
3. The seat in issue is for three state constituencies Viz: Ezeagu, Udi South and Udi North
4. Since 1999 Udi North has been waiting patiently for their turn. Udi south was the first to take their turn; in the person of Hon. Garry Eneh, who occupied the seat for only four years, while Ezeagu took the second in the person of Hon. Ogbuefi Ozomgbachi, who is now occupying the seat for twelve years. For equity sake it now Udi North’s turn. In 2011, the same Ezeagu people pleaded for one more term since and Udi Son is the Governor; then secretary to Enugu State Government, Mr. Martin Ilo, called it “Game Changer”
Summary: the implication of what is going on now is that Ezeagu wants to occupy the seat for at least 20 years. Then argument that Udi cannot have two positions at the same time does not hold and should not hold., because it is the result of zoning. For instance when it was time for the Chairmanship of Udi Local Government Council to shift to Udi South , the people of Udi North did not argue that the Governor is from Udi South; the zoning arrangement was respected and that is what we expect Ezeagu people to do. Noteworthy is the fact that Ezeagu was the first to occupy he two seats at the same time, so they shouldn’t even raise the issue.
It is important to remember that the senatorial seat belong to Five Local Government areas and should not be counted when Udi and Ezeagu People are zoning their positions.

Ezeagu people should remember that when Hon. Garry Eneh was outsted in 203; even when most f his colleagues returned to the Federal House of Representatives, Udi was left empty handed, yet we voted for PDPD and Hon. Ozomgbachi. We were empty handed in 1996, yet we voted for Senator Ndu and Hon. Eziechi both from Ezeagu. From 1999 till date, Udi North has been empty handed yet the people of Udi North have been voting massively for PDP and Hon. Ogbuefi Ozomgbachi. Ezeagu should refrain from blackmailing the Governor, because he wants to go to senate, and consequently hold him to ransom.
Wait a minute, is it because UDI North has no senator or SAN to speak for them, hence they should be politically marginalized? In God we trust.
