Is our holistic approach silence or are PDP supporters in celebration mode, enjoying the spoils of victory in last Saturdays election where APC came a distant 3rd. You'd expect APC to put up a fight in the North but they capitulated garnering a measly 395 votes. Elections are not won on the net as we proved last Saturday in the North. Didn't see any APC member in this thread https://www.nairaland.com/1956986/pdp-wins-buruku-federal-constituency#27280953 I wonder why. 3 Likes |

Mogidi: You failed to mention the fact that APC score 395 vote without contesting the election: The Independent Electoral Commission has declared Mr John Tiav of the Peoples Democratic Party, winner of the re-contested Buruku Federal Constituency seat in Benue. In a re-election held on Saturday in Buruku, Tiav scored 25,988 votes to defeat Mr John Tine of the Labour Party, who scored 3,602. Mr Sekav Iyortyom of the All Progressive Congress scored 395 votes. Alhaji Baba Abba-Yusuf, Benue Resident Commissioner, Independent National Electoral Commission, who also served as the returning officer, said Tiav met all requirements of the Electoral Act to be declared winner. Abba-Yusuf who announced the result on Sunday in Buruku, said that the PDP candidate scored the highest number of votes. He said that 101,198 eligible voters registered for the election, but only 30,378 turned out for the exercise. He also commended both the candidates and their supporters for their peaceful conduct throughout the period of the election. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the APC candidate withdrew from the contest a day to the election. NAN reports that the Supreme Court had overturned the outcome of the first election conducted in 2011, and ordered for a fresh conduct, while excluding its previous winner, Mr Orker Jev of the APC. An aspirant of the party, Mr Sekav Iyortyom, had challenged the outcome of the party’s primaries on the grounds that it was not won by Jev, who was declared winner by the party. The aspirant had alleged that his name was fraudulently replaced with that of Jev, who later went to the House of Representatives to represent the constituency. The court granted the prayers of Sekav and ordered for a fresh election. " 1 Like |

barcanista: See this Okoronkwo feeling funky. I am momentarily watching from the bench because since you particularly and the current other riff-raffs overtook this section you have flooded it with very useless threads un befitting of the section and chased out every othe smart user/poster here. Just like you did a census now and mentioned me, be honest and take a real real very real overall census and name the once "owners" of the section who have on their own accord stopped posting here. When I joined this forum, the politics section was fun. We had the actual smart politics analysts, we had the tribalists, we had the downright mad people we had all the concoctions to make the section fun, so it was very easy for me and a lot others to contribute to actual politics. But today, you left the section that brought you to nl, joined the politics section and teamed up with those who make a mockery of it, open senseless threads, encourage others to do so and expect me, gboliwe to indulge you? Sorry, I would rather watch from the sidebar or use my free MB elsewhere. What am I to contribute when we only have useless low IQed posters opening equally silly threads denigrating one tribe or another, posting pictures stolen from other sites and the moderators too overwhelmed to even sift through and do their jobs? Until something challenging and interesting becomes a norm here, I don't mind being a visiting poster. 4 Likes |
