Abuja Prostitution: Death Penalty Looms!!! by suyamasta(m): 8:26pm On Oct 22, 2014
Prostitutes in the city of Abuja have
been given a 48-hour ultimatum to
vacate the city or face the full
wrath of the law while men and
women who patronise them will be
punished with a death sentence.
These strict measures were laid out
by the Secretary for Social
Development, Mrs. Blessing Onuh.
shortly after an official visit to
several locations known to witness
heavy activity of prostitutes and
their patrons in the Federal Capital
Territory.
Mrs Onuh added that several other
severe measures had been lined up
after security agencies combed
several red-light districts and made
several arrests.
She noted that experiencing a
decline in the scourge, the
secretary noted that prostitution
has metamorphosed from the
conventional sedentary practice in
local brothels to a sophisticated
cartel of “runs babes” and the
corporate realm.
She revealed that the ‘executive’
type now holds in many luxury
hotels in the Abuja metropolis and
the exquisite homes of the super-
rich adding that notorious spots
include Port Harcourt Crescent, off
Gimbiya Street, Garki; Adetokunbo
Ademola Crescent and Sheraton
Junction in Wuse II; and virtually
all the discotheques; even in poor
neighbourhoods like Nyanyan,
Mararaba and Gwagwa, little girls
have joined the illicit trade.

As far back as history can document, CSW are part and parcel of the society even in countries where unemployment is not significant and now Nigeria wanna ridiculously eliminate it. As ridiculous as usual.

This country should be moving forward and not backwards. Our sense of false morality is really pulling us back, besides prostitution is like the oldest profession... We need policies that will affect the masses positively ..

They are always quick to pass judgement on the commoner, and also treat with disdain. Selfish and corrupt set of people at the helm of the Country.

Stupid, Rubbish, Useless law. Funny enough the law was never passed in the house. So what audacity does she have to make such a statement. She really must be high on something and if she tries rubbish, she and the government officials who would join her in this madness must be tried for crime against humanity.

This looks like a decision made from not taking coffee in the morning. Someone probably overslept n spilled over to her decision making. Death penalty for prostitutes n their patrons? I think some peoples brain need the fire service.

In Abuja they dont wait for any law to be passed before they take action o! for example roadside traders are usually harrased for trying to make a living!

If Jonathan is given one more chance, he will turn into a dictator because by then we will have no choice. Am sure his first executive action after swearing in will be to increase petrol pump price to N200 per litre.

not far from the truth.

but there are more than two things involved here:

either the mrs onuh is a psycho
or she is a drug addict
or a sadist
a reclusive being who has been shut away from the modern world for years

Very ridiculous statement coming from a low level officer. someone fire that mitch!

How can you set death penalty for prostitution that's legal in some countries

let her execute any prostitute first.....that's when she will know that there's international court of justice , people that are stealing our money are out there walking freely and she want to kill innocent girls that are hustling

who wants to be a prostitute,
some of this girls are degree holders
some hnd
Some nd
some nce
and some school cert

if some of this girls can get a job that pays as low as 20k a month they won't be there selling there body
