This Smartphone App was designed to solve mathematical problems and equations by scanning the written equation with the phone’s camera.

PhotoMath was created to solve math problems quickly using two technologies, the camera and the math app which makes it very easy to use. Unfortunately, the camera feature of this app only scans printed text and not hand written work.

This App works by aligning the mathematical problem within the capturing area of the camera, then PhotoMath captures it, processes the equation and gives you the final answer.

Because of the obvious likelihood of this app to discourage people from learning how to practically solve mathematics, the creators of this app added a feature that shows steps on how the final answer was derived.

PhotoMath is a new app and the creators are yet to include advanced mathematical programming in it like calculus but for now, the app can solve mathematical problems like linear equations, logarithm, et cetera.

The PhotoMath App can be downloaded for free and it is only available on iOS and Windows Phone. The Blackberry and Android version is expected to be available by next year.
