Should We Divide This Country Called Nigeria? by EvangSDKalu: 12:28am On Oct 27, 2014 |
Nigeria at 100, I think we have tried. Though many of us are tired of this country. Our great grand parents believed in one Nigeria and died and didn't see the best of this country. I was told I am a leader of tomorrow when Buhari was head of state. Many non faithful Muslims had promised mayhem on Nigeria if GEJ should win presidential election next year. No law and order, corruption at it peak, we don't have international name sorry we have, it called scammers, gold diggers etc ethnic groups, tribalism, nepotism and Godfatherism has taken over our political system. Assuming we come together as a country to part ways into: yorubas = Oduduwa Niger Deltans = Republic of Niger Delta Igbos = Biafra Hausas = Arewa How do we share assets and liabilities of Nigeria? Those campaigning for separation from Nigeria, have they put in place necessary and fundamental governmental constitution or they going to use Nigerian constitution? Matured people only

Nigeria can only work when there is true federalism and perhaps zone the presidency. If not, there will continue to be chaos and bitterness in our politics. That is what can actually split up the country. I think Ooduduwa Republic will probably adopt Nigerian constitution and currency and perhaps give them some oodudese touches. The Arewa Republic will likely adopt the sharia law, arabic language and some arab currency or maybe retain the naira. The Republic of Biafra will certainly resurect their currency and constitution ( as they had been an independent country before they were recaptured. Niger delta (if they don't unite with biafra in a federal system) will probably not be different from biafra. 5 Likes |

To this end we all shall come to be- divided!! Its a bitter truth but surely this country can't continue this way forever! A region that contribute zero to our collective purse ,the overfed parasites are the same one threatning fire n brimestones if power is not left for them forever!! The christian North covering 16 states are my concern on how they will survive sharia loving neigbours and jihadists should the country divides!! |

I use to be a pro split naija until d situation in south sudan opened my eyes. Splitting naija wud only give rise to new war lords who wud further lead us into much much more power divide and power tussle esp in my beloved naija delta. N.B: d problem with naija is our leaders not our difference, these leaders only use our difference for their personal gains making it seem d oda guy is d bad guy. Case study south south. we cry d north has short changed us bt wat have we done with what we presently get......notin. To further prove my point we have as my rich southern politicians(looters) as we have in d north 1 Like |

Ignorant and lazy people want Nigeria to be split. Are we really a divided people? NO The unfortunate thing is that we have a government that is so lazy and corrupt, hence making us blame one another for the government failures. 'Many non faithful Muslims had promised mayhem on Nigeria if GEJ should win presidential election next year. No law and order, corruption at it peak, we don't have international name sorry we have, it called scammers, gold diggers etc ethnic groups, tribalism, nepotism and Godfatherism has taken over our political system.' The blame for all that falls squarely on GEJ. If we have an active government that prosecutes criminals, jail and kill them, then others will be dissauded from crime. If we break up, the same rogues leading us now will lead the independent nations, so nothing will change, rather get worse. Imagine a Biafra country in the hands of the Abia state governor and his croonies. |

EvangSDKalu: Efik/ibibio would be part of Niger delta this time not Biafra When dividing and creating boundaries we would all have problems but that's normal we have been together for 100yrs it's enough...DEATH TO NIGERIA GIVE US BIAFRA, NIGER DELTA, ODUDUWA, AREWA AND MIDLAND |

olapluto: Shut up. Nigeria from day one Even at the Southern, northern protectorate period was a mistake. Yorubas deserve one nation Igbo, Hausa too it's this disgusting politicians who keep feeding the public lies of one Nigeria that never existed...they benefit from Nigeria but Nigerians don't. We don't want Nigeria. We want our own nations 1 Like |

We obviously do not want to be in the same country so instead of 2015 elections wouldn't it be just great if we are to be voting on a referendum? We get what we want and we get it peacefully! 1 Like |
