what are the expectations for a married woman in Nigeria- this issue has been generating some controversy on the site.

In your culture, what are norms expected of a married woman?

Here on nairaland, its obvious a married woman (perhaps some married women) is/are not expected to talk to, chat with or have any kind of social interaction with the opposite gender (single ones in particular). Not here to debate on that, just wanted to see what cultural habits are expected once a woman gets married or engaged to a partner.

We' re all aware adultery/fornication is clearly a no no, so lets not derail the thread with various horror punishments meted out to such. (eg magun, etc).

other things plz.
