THE ORJI UZOR KALU CONUNDRUM

Shortly on assumption of office, Dr orji Uzor Kalu embarked on selling off Abia peoples’ equipment. First to be sold off was all the water pipes purchased for the Umuahia Regional Water Scheme. Till date nobody knows what has become of the proceeds. He cleverly budgeted millions of Naira for that scheme. The question is where is the water and where are the pipes.

He also sold of all the mechanical equipment in the Ministry of Works and rendered the Mechanical Department inoperative. He also sold off the Asphalt Plant in Aba to Zerocks. The equipment were sold off with the connivance of one Architect Nduka.

Orji Uzor Kalu in 1997 offered the sum of one million Naira to the then Abia Commissioner for Police Osaretin Bakare who rejected the money because of Orji Uzor Kalu’s penchant for criminality especially since it was said that he had a case with Panti Street Police Department. The money was passed on through O. O. Okoronkwo from Alayi who attempted giving the money through M.D. Ofo.

Till date nobody has bothered to ask what happened to the Fire Service Station at Ariaria International Market Aba. The Fire Service Station was sold off by Eunice Uzor Kalu to Mike Adenuga to build his bank under the close watch of his son, Orji Uzor Kalu.

Why was Emeka Stanley removed as the Commissioner for Works? He was removed because he refused to key in into Mamas kleptomania regarding the Abiriba and Igbere erosion sites. Mama and his cohort, Stanley Ojigbo had brought in an estimate of more than two hundred million for rehabilitation work at one of the sites. Emeka Stanley, the then Commissioner for Works made an estimate of less than N52 million. That angered the State Governor, Madam Eunice Uzor Kalu and Emeka Stanley was removed. EXPECT MORE!!!!!
