God indeed has been merciful and bountifully been blessing me. The house is at 'finishing touches' stage but very livable now so I'm going to breathe a little before continuing. *All doors are fixed. *Sliding windows are installed (all windows at the back are sliding windows while those in front are casement windows) while the casement windows are waiting for burglary proofs. *Burglary proofs are being fabricated in-situ *The BQ is growing tall *Some landscaping work done 6M and counting. Isn't God great??

century106: If the house is livable for this cost, honestly you did a good job. Some people are struggling to complete a three bedroom boungalow with that same amount you spent on five bedroom. 2 Likes |

Hello Century106. I am also from Los Angeles. I am about to start my 5 bedroom project just like yours in my town and I will like to seek your advise. Can you please forward your e-mail address? Here is mine: ray.2007@yahoo.com |
Re: My Five (5) Bedroom Bungalow - The Building Process by century106: 8:05am On Oct 01, 2015 |
skyps:Thanks. I have spent some more since posting the cost update. What is left is tiling, POP ceiling and painting, then furnishing. By the grace of God these will be done before the year runs out. And yes, I have seen 3 bedroom yet to complete after gulping about 10M. But then again, location matters and one's bargaining power. The 3 bedroom has a raft foundation. |

monafabulous:What if I told you I have architects that consult me before planning spaces for their clients projects? Most of the irrelevant spaces you see are relevant to me and so I had the design the way it is... Thanks for your compliments sir. 2 Likes |

I like your zeal and to be candid it worth sharing. I just started my 5 bedroom(3 bedroom and 2 bedroom) Bungalow as well on a 30ft x 120ft land. So far excluding cost of land i have spent N630k. I hand everything over to God to complete. Thanks |
Re: My Five (5) Bedroom Bungalow - The Building Process by century106: 7:46pm On Sep 12, 2016 |
nursevee99:It's a fair charge; but be aware some of them under-charge just to get the contract and half way issues arise and they demand more money. I supervised mine by myself but spent about 200 - 300K on all labours until roofing. I have to check my log book for the exact figure |

How far Century106 , I just started following this thread for some days now while I was searching online for a ground floor plan for a 5 Bedroom bungalow. You are too kind to have shared and it has greatly inspired and motivated me further to commence mine in aba here. And I believe the house must be living in the house now. But the thread seemed to have stopped here on the 6th page. Can I see the pic of the completed building? And do u live in aba? Wish I cud see u one on one... 1 Like |

mario2008:The house is now a home! When I can I will update the thread with progress pics. We were there the whole of Xmas and I couldn't stop thanking God for a roof of my own over my family. I was waiting for the completion of the boy's quarter and complete landscaping before I post how beautiful the project turned into. I learned a lot from Nairaland (from Spyder880 and others) before I started my build, if you go through most of the threads on the property section, you will become a master supervisor of your own project knowing at least little of every aspect of the building process. I'm not in Aba; but won't refuse an offer of a bottle of cold lager beer when I come home (Abia) for Easter. 2 Likes |
