sometimes ago, i consulted the house if bungalow on a very dry land required pillars and based on several advices i got for and against the pillar usage, i decided to use pillars at each edge of the building and now did perimeter casting to bind the house together.

atasteve: 9:50pm On Oct 05, 2011"I can 100% tell you that you need pillars even if it is just along the sides and maybe a few within.

They will bind the house together and when you get to the lintel, you can do perimeter casting that will bind the house together with the pillars before the roofing.

No matter the solidness of the land i will also advise German floor for the house. It might cost more but you will be glad you did

You can use builders but make sure yo personally oversea every stage".

thanks a lot mr atasteve, i took to your advice and am loving it

I love it most when words turn to actions, and actions in turn mature into solid structures. Well done Bros.

the wood to be used for the roofing is "ogburugburu" because it is one of the strongest wood in the market
220 pcs of 2*4*12 at #430 = #94,600
150 pcs of 2*3*12 at #340 = #51,000
200 pcs of 2*2*12 at #250 = #50,000
18 pcs 0f 1*12*12 at #1,300 = #23,400
TOTAL = #219000

4" nail at #4800 ( 1 bag )
3" nail at #4800 ( 1 bag )
2" nail (2 head pan) at #120 * 2 = #240
ojagba at #80 * 30 = #2400

the aluminium used for the roofing was sourced for at mulero iyana ipaja (alahu product resources limited). because i was able to get to this company without the middle men, i got 0.45 aluminium for #870/sq. metre. and the total amount paid at the end of the day stands at #343,500, excluding transport of #15,000. i was able to go into their factory and i saw at first hand how this aluminium is being produced, with the machines used there, it made it look so easy.
