EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOU IS A REFLECTION OF WHAT YOU BELIEVE ABOUT YOURSELF. WE CANNOT OUT-PERFORM OUR LEVEL OF SELF ESTEEM. WE CANNOT DRAW TO OURSELVES MORE THAN WE THINK THAT WE ARE WORTH!

Self-doubt is the most common epidemic that has swept through mankind. It seems unpopular and scientifically dis-proven because no one person can really tell if he or she has been infected. It has become the bane of the world, the thief of youthfulness and joy, the prison of the heart and generally, the barrier to success in most individual.

Believing and trusting in oneself is a twisty subject considering the fact that overtime in life we are faced with a lot of vices and social believes. Also with so much importance attached to social standing, many individual stand no chance of getting free from this shackles.

Confidence is the word that encompasses and encircles the whole believe in yourself message and with confidence lacking, we have individuals with low self-esteem, dying self-worth and living a directionless life.

To get a clearer picture of this subject, let us treat it like a disease, and note that early detection is a key to early prevention by subsequent cure.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF LACK OF CONFIDENCE

The signs and symptoms of lack of confidence are vast but let’s take a touchdown on the most common and obvious ones. Check the list below:

• You don’t trust in your abilities and are never sure of yourself.

• You do not have the final say even in decisions affecting you directly.

• You prefer to lean on others for support even in activities you can carry out on your own.

• You constantly feel up to no good and always wish you were somebody and someplace else.

• You worry too much about what others have to say about you.

• You have never felt you can even lead even a small group of individuals.

• You are always defensive and try to be a perfectionist.

• You lack proper social, relationship and public skills.

• You obviously know you lack confidence and have never believed in yourself in its generality.


CAUSATIVE FACTORS OF LOW SELF ESTEEM

Life is all about cause and effect, there is a reason to everything, and low self-esteem just doesn’t prop out of nothing but it is activated generally by some of the factors outlined below:

• Abuse at any stage in life {sexually or physically}.

• Negative orientation from friends and family.

• Constant failure and fear to continue.

• Lack of self-worth, feeling too cheap.

• Growing to negative remarks on a constant basis and parental strife.

• Victim of bullies with under- or over-supportive and uninvolved parents.

• Society and general social belief system.



POSSIBLE SOLUTION AND REMEDY


Possible solutions and remedy it is, because most times our mind is not open to change, but in case you are open to alteration, here are possible actions to help heal and build your ailing confidence.

• Be authentic and drop pretense, just stop trying to be a person you are not.

• Learn to say NO. Say what you mean and mean what you say.

• Grant yourself the permission to make mistakes and stop trying too hard to be a perfectionist.

• Take responsibilities for your actions and show love to your nearest man.

• Always do thing that make you feel better and happy with yourself, it’s your best bet.

• Be decisive in all you want to do, put in your best to all your engagements and stop second guessing.

• Make new friends and do not pity yourself.

It goes beyond all this actually; in short this is just the tip of the iceberg. Work on yourself and become that person you have always envisioned.
