For those who travel abroad they know this very well our country gets so much disrespect from foreigner’s, when stories like that of Pius Adesanmi who wants Air France banned from Nigeria surfaces online,or the Egypt airline maltreatment of Viola,we are all angry, our national pride is hurt.

In Dubai, Egypt, Malaysia, South Africa, India and many more countries around the world, our people are humiliated, even the senile Robert Mugabe, president of a joke of a country like Zimbabwe makes jokes about our country. We have sunk really low.

But don’t we deserve what we get? Nobody demands respect, respect is earned, does the kind of news that would bring us respect emanate from our country or those that would bring disrespect?

True we are Africa’s biggest economy, thanks to oil, but that is nothing special. Even Somalia would be in Africa’s top 10 if they had all this oil.

What have we done with all this oil money, science and technology is practically nonexistent in this country, our leaders simply spend or embezzle the money the way it comes, no plans for the future.

Even the various excess oil money accounts the government keeps is probably been looted by “them” as i type this.

We need to ask ourselves, if we were not Nigerians would we respect a country like Nigeria?

I don’t know about you but i wouldn’t respect a country were the president spends more time bickering with state governor’s in the opposition than concentrating on his job, while his peers are on the world stage flexing their muscles, and building influence and reputation for their countries, a country were 7 HOA members can impeach a speaker in a house of 200+ members

A country were all the news that reaches the international press is all about terrorism, lynching of ‘people who are different’ like we are barbarians, abductions, slapping and thieving pastors, internet fraud, looting, looting and more looting.

Even Nigerians don’t respect Nigeria, how dare we demand respect from the world?

Look at the East Asian countries of China, Japan and South Korea, how many times have we heard of their citizens been harrased, i no fit rite long tory, i would end it on this note, If you heard “Japan” or “S Korea” what’s the first thing that comes to your mind? If they hear “Nigeria” guess the things that comes to their mind?

Now thats why we are getting no respect.
