The Jigawa State Justice Sector and Law Reform Commission is set to establish two centres at the Dutse General Hospital and Rashid Shekoni  Specialist Hospital for the treatment of rape victims in the state.
This was disclosed to newsmen by the Director of Public Prosecution in the state Ministry of Justice and member of the commission, Barrister Sule Umar.
He said apart from the establishment of the centre, the commission in collaboration with the state House of Assembly is also amending the existing law to provide stiffer punishment for  rapists.
Umar said the commission is worried by the growing number of rape cases, adding that plans are on to train stakeholders who would work in the centres. He said designated courts would also be set up to tackle rape cases.

They should also consider men who are victims of r.ape in this project.

What a gud idea....but rape isn't a gud idea in the live of human being...ask the victims of rape they will tell u the agony an there experience.

Nice initiative. But wont it encourage these men to keep raping those gals.... cos they will conclude that afterall there is hospital to treat them...so lets keep firing...just saying sha..
