Mr. Obasanjo, who is the Chairman of the occasion, said the president should stop encouraging ‘verbal violence which may not physically hurt but has ways of degenerating into physical violence’. Where and when did Jonathan encourage verbal violence? This man is so desperate to be seen fighting this govt. And why is he so chicken sh1t to call Buhari to order over the Monkey dog blood thing? 1 Like |

It will be wrong for anybody to assert that the present administration is the best that has ever happen to this nation since independent because Nigerians have never had it this tough. The nation is bleeding with incessant killings. Corruption is at top gear with ICPC, EFCC and Co no longer seeing anything. Obasanjo is an elder stateman who was there and can still see when and where things are going wrong. We should not be under any illusion, the democracy we celebrated some years back has declined drastically particularly under GEJ administration. Nigeria has lost its place in the committee of Nations but some of these truth about ourselves are being replaced with fallacy certainly for the extortions of the western world. It is in our own interest to take issues the way they are perhaps to avoid a looming national disaster. PDP and Doyin Okupe should see beyond seating in Aso Rock Villa and read press statements. Nigerians are going through a very difficult moment, we are face with blink economic and social cultural future. Something convincingly positive must be done and urgently too. 1 Like |

KennyElish:Which Obj is an elder statesman? The one who looted this country blind? The one who was busy giving licences to private universities instead of upgrading or building universities that the children of common citizens can attend? May be you are talking according to your knowledge level. Please do read this thread and see how OBJ turned Nigeria into his personal estate: https://www.nairaland.com/1580013/derivation-deprivation-ii-ill-gotten-wealth |

This man had just said his mind on the state of the nation. I don't believe he should be criticized, what he said should rather be pondered upon. We don't really need to be sentimental here. If you agree with him, fine and if you don't, you have your reason(s), say it or act on it. what we need here is our country getting better whether you come from the minority or the majority doesn't matter. We should all be patriotic enough by putting Nigeria first in anything we want to do or say. |
