Last year, some University Cult members approached three different police checkpoints and killed them all just in a day. Eventually, intelligence gathered that Police had arrested one of their members and murdered him in a cold blood without any offence,(Just because they identified him as cult member).

“It is quite debilitating and annoying to ascertain that the government institution established to foster peace and security in Nigeria has turned to be a threat, tormentor, enemy to Nigerian citizens and instigator of violence and insurgency in Nigeria.

Since the inception of democracy in Nigeria, Nigeria Police has remained a bane, working against the purpose of it's creation. The institution directly or indirectly remains a personified corrupt image of Nigeria. It breeds orientations that give rise to corruption in Nigeria.

Imagine, many are jailed for the crime they know nothing about. Many are roasting in police cells today because they don’t have money to bail themselves. Many cases are left untouched and untreated because the complainant has no resources to push their case files. Many debts are not recovered today just because seeking the help of Nigerian Police Force will eventually result to sharing of that money if recovered from the debtor between the police and the owner.

It's however frankly believed that a weak security infrastructure in every nation certainly means a weak government. So analytically and evidentially, Nigerian Police are morally corrupt, politically insane, operationally deficient, institutionally weak and structurally decayed. The institution is rotten to the extent of becoming political partisan!

Just last week, a Soldier friend of mine during conversation frankly lamented that Military is bearing the burden of Nigerian Police. "It's unfortunate that Nigerian Army is suffering for the curse of police.." he laments.

He stated that the insurgency military is battling right now caused by police. They killed Mohammad yussuf, the leader of the religious sect that eventually turned to terrorist group.

The Nigerian Police Force found Yussuf in his parents-in-law's house. He was arrested but he tried to escape from the police station. However, the Nigerian army caught him and handed him over to the Nigerian police force. Police then summarily executed him in public view outside a police station.

What a gruesome wickedness? Is Nigeria Police a Judiciary arm of Nigeria? Now that the Sect is burning, why is Nigerian Police not assign to bear the burden itself?

However, the rot in Police is a symptom of weak and clueless government. Imagine, Nigerian Police lying against No 4 citizen of Nigeria, the amiable Speaker of the House of Representative, claiming the speaker did not identify himself during National Assembly fraca while it's conspicuous in the video posted online that Police deliberately acted to the dictate from above as they ignored Mr Speaker.

What a clueless institution! Nigeria police withdrew Speaker's security without court injunction, a disgrace to the image of Federal Republic of Nigeria.

My judgement is that, Nigeria police should be deployed to Sambisa to bring back our girls because their indifference led to the abduction.

I write this to awake Mr President from slumber to drive his transformation train to Police Force to give room for peace and sanity in Nigeria.

AIT reports:

A thirty-year-old first class graduate of Economics from the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, Moses Murtala Aminu was shot dead by a Nigerian police constable, Alex Okpe, when he tried to defend his girlfriend who was being assaulted by Alex.

According to his friend eyewitness, Moses had left his
house for a party in Barnawa, Kaduna where the police constable was beating up Moses' girlfriend outside the party venue.

As Moses tried to intervene, the constable reached into his pockets, retrieved his gun and fired, killing him instantly. The constable then shot again - into the air - and fled by motorbike.

The constable has been tracked down and arrested by Barnawa Police Division officers.
