Tambuwal Asks Court To Send Police IG To Prison For Contempt by xmocrew(m): 10:09pm On Nov 28, 2014 |
Rough times are ahead for the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba. The Speaker of the House of Reps, Rt. Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, has asked the Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja, to try The IGP and send him to jail for disobeying an order made by the court. The IGP had last week ordered police officers to take over the National Assembly complex to “prevent thugs from taking over the complex” and apparently the thugs are Tambuwal and other members. Tambuwal told the court that by the IGP’s refusal to recognize him as Speaker of the House when he appeared before a committee of the House on Monday, the IG constituted himself “to be the click http://olatunjimike..com/2014/11/tambuwal-asks-court-to-send-police-ig.html to continue reading |

The man don fight for Oga enter trouble. I am sure the Attorney General will deny giving legal backing for the IG to go and say Tambuwal is not Speaker. Then the IG has to fight what might be a civil case (lucky it might not be a criminal one)alone. I foresee an award of damages. |

The IGP had last week ordered police officers to take over the National Assembly complex to “prevent thugs from taking over the complex” and apparently the thugs are Tambuwal and other members. Tambuwal told the court that by the IGP’s refusal to recognize him as Speaker of the House when he appeared before a committee of the House on Monday, the IG constituted himself “to be the complainant, the judge and the executioner in a matter where a restraining order has already been issued by the judge.” Justice Muhammed, ruling on the exparte application, ordered Tambuwal’s counsel to serve the motion on notice on IGP Suleiman Abba’s lawyers for immediate response... In a suit filed by Hon Tambuwal over his position as the speaker after he defected to the APC, Justice Ahmed Muhammed who is trying the case, had ordered that all parties should maintain the status quo, implying that Mr. Tambuwal stays put on his seat as speaker till the court takes a decision on the matter. Relying on two grounds, Tambuwal, on Friday, represented by Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), said the IG should be charged for contempt after he directed his men to stop the plaintiff from gaining access to the premises of the National Assembly despite an earlier order by the court that all parties must maintain the status quo pending the determination of the substantive suit seeking interpretation of his status as the Speaker of the House of Representatives. Justice Muhammed has adjourned the matter to December 1, 2014, for a ruling. 1 Like |

Am really happy for the humiliation the National Assembly members suffered in the hand of the NPF . This is what the average Nigerian go through every day and our legislators see nothing to do about it. I would have even drank to it if one of them was hit by accidentally discharged bullet, Nigerians die from it regularly and nothing tangible has this goons done about it. So if they too die in the hand of the same police nothing will happen except they are more Nigerian than other Nigerians . That the economy is dwindling is because we have a docile National Assembly That Gej is still the president and acting sluggishly is because we have a pardy pardy National Assembly That we have a huge annual recurrent expenditure is because we have greedy senators and reps whose take home pay is the highest is the world while their impact is the lowest in the world. Gej is not our problem, the National Assembly is our problem. Gej is just one man, the National Assembly has power over him both numerically and legally . We should condemn their I don't care attitude , everybody is messing up. Traffic warders, directors, ministers, security men, everybody.its all because these guys are dump or handicapped in the brain |
