Two bombs have gone off at the Maiduguri main market, in Borno State, Nigeria’s north-east region, leaving several people dead.



Security and aid workers are trying to evacuate the dead and injured persons from the scene of the explosion.

Reports say that the explosions were carried out by two female bombers.

The two female bombers are said to have carried the explosives in the back of their Hijab dress, arrived at a hair braiding salon within the Maiduguri Market and blew themselves up as a female civilian- JTF operatives tried to search them.

The explosions occurred at the area where fowls are being sold inside the market, very close to a First Bank branch.

Eyewitnesses said it was two girls who came into the market with the bombs.

It is the second time within one week that suicide bombers have attacked the market. Several people were killed in same area last week when suicide bombers attacked the market.

Nigeria has really changed for the worse, we have even gotten more daring and brazen that core Al Qaeda terrorist fanatics in Afghanistan...who would have thought Nigeria would enter into a level as hardcore as suicide bombing considering how much we typically value our lives(which makes me suspect this suicide bombers are not Nigerians,not destitute zombies from neighbouring countries like Chad and Niger), who are really this female suicide bombers? who and where are they contacted and indoctrinated? man I'm scared of visiting Nigeria any time soon
