our people were reportedly killed on Tuesday following the outcome of the House of Assembly primary held by the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congres (APC).


Daily Independent gathered that the primaries held at Apena area of Mainland Constituency 1 of Lagos Mainland Local Government went bloody after the result was announced in favour of the immediate past chairman of Lagos Mainland LG, Oladele Adekanye, who defeated the incumbent member, Bashiru Oloto.

It was gathered that the camp of the loser who felt cheated started the brawl as they reportedly went on rampage while complaining of manipulation in favour of a certain candidate.

The clash that ensued between the supporters of the two aspirants reportedly claimed the lives of four people.

In a related development, APC primaries at the Ifako/Ijaiye Constituency II under Ojokoro Local Council Development Area also went awry as some people were also feared dead in the fracas that broke out after the results were announced.

It was gathered that those who were not happy with the way and manner the exercise was conducted by party officials went on rampage. The police were said to have quickly quelled the situation before it degenerated further.

However, Jubril, son of the National Publicity Secretary of APC, Lai Mohammed defeated popular hip-hop artiste, Kenny Saint Brown, and two others to emerge the party’s flag-bearer for Ikeja 1 Constituency where the Speaker, Adeyemi Ikuforiji, is currently representing, while Oladimeji, the son of the Lagos APC chairman, Oladele Ajomale, defeated a sitting lawmaker, Omowunmi Olatunji-Edet in the primaries to become the party’s flag bearer for Osodi/Isolo Constituency.

Meanwhile, the exercise recorded major upset as some more sitting lawmakers lost their positions to their contenders, majority of who are beginners.
