You would begin to love the idea when your sister or daughter wants to get married....and on doing the 'investigation' into the man's background....you find he is a convicted offender.....by perusing the offenders register.....and you might be able to warn your sis or daughter in time.

Also, should someone be s''xually assaulted in your locality......police investigations would be helped by a knowledge of the sex offenders in the area....good suspect list.

Not a joke my friend.....a good tool in the war against an evil.....which has hurt many women (and which concerns me as a doctor....as I have had to treat victims of such assaults .....not very pleasant business.).
