President Goodluck Jonathan
Friday relieved Alhaji Aminu Suley
of his duties as the Comptroller
General of the Nigerian Prisons
and appointed Dr. Peter Ezenwa
Ekpendu as his replacement.


Before his new appointment as
Comptroller General, Ekpendu
was Deputy Controller General
(Administration).
A native of Ibeku, Okwuato in
Mbaise Local Government area of
Imo State, Ekpendu has also
served in various capacities in
the Nigerian Prison Service as
Deputy Commandant, Prisons
Training College, Lagos, Officer-
in-Charge of Umuahia, Officer in
charge of Owerri Prisons, and
Deputy Controller of Prisons
Training, Prisons Headquarters
1999 among several other top
postings.
He is a graduate of University of
Nigeria, and an alumni of the
Prestigious National Institute for
Policy and Strategy Studies
(NIPSS), Kuru, Jos. He is also a PHD
holder.
