NIGER STATE GOVERNOR DONATES LAND FOR ANGLICAN UNIVERSITY

The Niger state governor Dr. Babangida Aliyu has allocated 100 hectares of land to theAnglican Church for its proposed Walter Miller University (WMU).

This was revealed by Gen. Theophilus Danjuma who was speaking at the the Sod Turning Ceremony of the institution on Monday in Diko. “We also wish to acknowledge, with immense gratitude, the offer of this 100 hectares of land to us at no cost by the Governor of Niger State, Dr Babangida Aliyu," the onetime Minister of Defence said in a The News report.

“The gesture is one of its kind in this country.

“This ceremony is simple but very significant to us because we are starting this venture by seeking the blessings, guidance and protection of God for the land,’’ he said.

The most patrotic/sincere governor in the far north

hardly would you see a Muslim complain or criticize the governor over this, if the governor been a Muslim gives such land for Islamic university or something like female university, many people here commending him will turn hypocritical, calling him religious bigot. We have too many hypocrites in this nairaland!

Great Move. Our political Leaders must accommodate people from other faith.
CAN have been accusing Northern Muslim Governors of not providing lands for Churches to be built in the North.
I want to see more Northern Muslim Governors showing love to people of different faith.
