The call by the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) that the former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika should be tried for war crimes at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) has been described by the Yan Kishin Arewa as “callous, malicious, vexatious and baseless”.

Also, the northern group hailed the Nigerian military for its revived battle against the Boko Haram sect, a situation that has led to the displacement of the insurgents from key Adamawa and Borno states’ towns they overran and seized in the past months.

Rising from a one-day stakeholders meeting in Abuja of over 60 youths from the 19 northern states and FCT, the northern group reported that throughout the tenure of Ihejirika, no northern town was captured by the Boko Haram sect.

Yan Kishin Arewa in a statement signed by its publicity secretary, Alh. Tijjani Ahmed Michika challenged the ACF to substantiate its allegations against Ihejirika.

Recall that an Australian negotiator, Mr. Stephen Davies reportedly hired by the federal government to engage Boko Haram accused Ihejirika of sponsoring the Islamic sect.

“The northern youths condemn in strong terms the callous, vexatious and narrow-mindedness of the likes of Stephen Davies and his cohorts such as some uninformed Nigeria elites who like to stoke the ambers of fire of disunity to pull down the country.

“Nigeria must remain one indivisible and indestructible entity irrespective of tribal, religious or linguistics differences. Nigerian elders should stop using such to poison the minds of the youths,” Michika said.

Yes of course, Ihejirika is the best chief of army staff we've had in recent times, I could still recall how Boko-haram members were pummeled on a daily basis, but since he was resigned forcefully, those cows now have the impetus to carry out daring attacks across the north east and even north west; The Arewa.......whatever can go to hell with their useless and baseless accusations, Hypocrites!

Those calling for ihejirika prosecution are really the bh sympathizers...I don't see any call 4 that, cos during his reign as th COAS,bh was rily not as strong as dis..he rily fought them and it was rily obvious with the killing and capturing of some of their commanders such as abu qaqa, bama, kabiru sokoto and many others.

Oh! I guess the ACF is one of BH sponsors, else why would they accuse Ihejirika of war crimes? At least from a brighter side, the Yan Kishin Arewa is backing him up.

I know it.

They were coding Oga Jona head for him to drop Ihejirika, hoping that things will be better but worst. Now is new week, new bomb blast.
Waiting. ..... Do you know that it's one's father, mother, brother, sister, cousin, nephew etc that is been burnt like a goat.

Get ready to send this man to Otuoke where he belong.

I have no party, I will only vote for him that have vision and heart to make decisions.

At his time, the NA was pro-active and BH was on the run. But b/c of human right complains, the NA is now reactive.
We now see BH seizing towns and the NA will letter recover them. They now even attack army barracks, then the NA will wake up and chase them or smt even run if they were not well prepared.

What does ACF want? Do they really like the situation they've cornered the NA into?

They should leave the man alone jo.
