Ex-militant, Tompolo, Buys Six Warships by Zakkyoz: 7:01am On Dec 13, 2014
A former Niger Delta
militant, Mr. Government
Ekpemupolo, alia Tompolo,
has bought seven
decommissioned Norwegian
battleships, Saturday
PUNCH has learnt.
Reports by a Norwegian
newspaper, Dagbladet, said
that the fast-speed Hauk-
class guided missile boats
had been re-armed with
new weaponry.
The report also revealed
that Ekpemupolo’s most
recent purchase is a KNM
Horten, a fast-attack craft
now used in fighting piracy
in Nigeria’s waterways .
It was learnt that in spite of
his alleged history of
violence, Tompolo, now
controls the Global West
Vessel Service, a privately
owned contractor for
maritime security for the
Nigerian Maritime Safety
Agency.
Buying arms from Norway
requires an export license
from Nigeria’s Ministry of
Foreign Affairs. The ships
were reportedly sold first to
CAS Global, a British
security company that has
such a license, after which
Ekpemupolo reportedly
bought the ships from the
British company.
Dagblade reported that the
seven Norwegian ships are
now part of the company’s
maritime fleet patrolling
under a contract for the
Federal Government.

For as long as the Nigeria maritime regulate or supervise these vessels and the activities they're bought for, I don't think this should be a problem at all. But really, who is funding these guys?

The way people construct their headlines to instigate trouble:

He controls a Maritime security outfit affiliated with the country, but that wasn't used in judging his actions.

I don't think anybody should be comfortable with this.
Isn't this how ppl get established as warlords

Wat then is the NN doing

All these power hungry militants should not be left to run riot unchecked.. it doesn't take so much f an unchecked wound to become a blistering sore undecided

Anyone that still have trust in Gej wt the recent happenings is on the long run. The greatest mistake of obasanjo era is picking of this man as number one citizen. I will not be suprised if unthinkable happens next year because all these weapon is towards civil war if Gej is not elected again which is almost certain. Nigeria is on the brink, we re in it together.

The APC has made it clear that irrespective of the outcome of the 2015 elections they will form a parallel govt.

Should the Niger Delta lie fallow and wait for you desperadoes bent on stealing our oil wealth in the name of good governance to kill Jonathan and then send your Boko Militia to commit genocide in our land as they are doing in the northeast on Northern Christians and in the middle belt by Fulani militias?

The ND is not as always not seeking an expansionist or supremacists agenda but is fighting for full resource control.

Those vessels are meant to protect our shorelines from you thieves.

Last time I checked, Boko boys are in possession of sophisticated weapons and they're from the North. Please note: I've never braced any violence group.
