Following the failed attempt of Palestine to be recognized as a sovereign country at the security council of the united nation, the Nigerian Supreme Council On Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has condemned the stand of Nigeria to abstain from voting thereby truncating the effort to resolve the 66 year old crisis.



Addressing a press conference on the issue, the Secretary General of NSCIA, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, wondered why Nigeria who was known for supporting justice, freedom and independence of the nations could deliberately abstain from voting for the emancipation of palestine when it matters most and described the act as mischievous.

He wondered how the country could be involved in transmitting its local crisis of religious divide to the outside world, recalling that General Ibrahim Babangida, a Muslim, restored Nigeria’s relationship with Israel severed by General Yakubu Gowon, who is a Christian, having known that the issue at stake was not religious, why should the present government not do the right thing.

He added that people would understand why USA and Britain voted against Palestine freedom but Nigeria has no excuse.

Pro. Oloyede said the action of Federal Government would not degenerate crisis Nigeria stressing that it has duty to explained to entire Nigerians why it took such inhuman action against Palestine people who need freedom.

While Israel has offered us weapons, experts and assistance in tackling Boko Haram, even at the caution of the US..the arab world's relation to the issue is possible sponsorship. The Libyans have sold the weapons they're using to kill themselves to terrorists in Mali and Nigeria, showered on them by the ignorance of the United States. The Saudis have blocked Nigerian flights from entering their airspace once we started buying weapons from Pakistan (should be noted that Pakistanis are not Arabs). Now the want to make noise because Nigeria recognizes Israel and not Palestine.

While there are arabs and their lackeys in Africa killing and enslaving black africans every day they want us to stand in adversity to one of the only nations that has offered Nigeria assistance in these trying times.

Let Palestine offer us assistance and help before we can do the same. As it stands we'll work with those that work with us, not against.

yoruba pseudo-intellectuals are a serious national handicap. I've never seen a group of people so completely void of a stance, viewpoint or backbone. Anything that happens they'll sway with the breeze and be for and against it at the exact same time, and it's never and issue the helps or advances their own people. They'll always own the issues of others on their own head while their own homeland is devoured by others. While this man is clamoring for Nigeria to condemn Israeli occupation of Palestine, Fulani occupation of Illorin is never mentioned because it would require them to show some sort of courage or actual sacrifice. As long as they can talk from a distance they channel their lust for bad belle and gossip into that issue so intensely that it will shock anyone. Then when it comes time to discuss the issues that effect them, nothing. All because that would require them to do something immediate and courageous. They'll just talk and talk without being for or against everything while being for and against everything at the same time.
Let mister Oloyede vote to recognize an Oba of Illorin to the face of it's Fulani Emir. Which one concerns you with Palestine? Even the Bakassi that Obasanjo sold to Cameroon, what is his stance on this? Ridiculous

This is why Buhari beat and imprisoned Awolowo and they are campaigning harder for Buhari today than anyone alive, but when Achebe said Awolowo was looking out for Yoruba interests, it was a 6 month media war because Achebe had died and attacking him wouldn't require any courage.

Well, they have every right and reason to do so. But Nigeria's hands are tied at the moment so we are bargaining from a very weak position.

There are times when expediency overrides morality and this is one of such moments. We just had to be selfish on this and protect our own interest at all cost.

I'm all for a free Palestine and an end to the occupation which has denied Palestinians the right to live normal lives, but hell, we have to preserve our own right to normal life as well.
