So...
Change the game-players in a rotten game?
Then change the rules maybe?

You don't get it do you?
The whole system is messed up.

Buhari or GEJ,
It matters the fu©k not.
It changes nothing.

It is up to every Nigerian to save themself.
If you believe in a change of Government,

Then, you, by far, are the most naive person I have seen.

History has shown time and time again that governments are the worst.
From waging wars to determining the school your unborn child will go to.

Democracy my a$$.
Hope for change?

Hope is delusional and unrealistic.

Wake up.
You have been asleeo too long.
Proffer an effective alternative solution?

I really don't want to sound insensitive or smth. But when the medical doctors were on strike and people were dying, they did make insensitive statements. Like 'doctors are the only important members of the health team' 'if johesu goes on strike, they won't be missed because doctors are on ground' 'they know a little of lab tech, nursing, pharmacy' bla bla bla.

Foolish set of Homo sapiens, why couldn't you save what was left of our only neuropathologist? I thought you were 'demigods' and have mystical powers to save lives? Why blame his death on JOHESU now? The joke is on you and the GEJ led FG that has no value for human lives.

The moment we begin to understand that healthcare is collaborative like it is in saner climes, is the moment we'll begin to treat each health profession on its own. Prof's death(tho sad) is a reminder to that effect. Don't quote me pls!
Please I have to quote you, you have just said my mind, what a piece, Baba God bless you plenty, I Hope they listen and learn. Oshe.

clap for yourself. do u know that when doctors go on strike they take only their brains? when johesu is on strike they lock up everywhere and hide equipments owned by the hospital just to form relevant personnel.
Shear ignorance!!! So you mean the pharmacist should leave their post opened right? Or the lab scientists should leave their departments opened for quacks to manipulate their equipments right? Clap for yourself......

. They say there's nothing special about being a doctor, yet each department cant fight the doctors alone, it takes JOHESU (a body of all other health workers except doctors) they obviously have a common goal! To sabotage and frustrate the efforts of doctors, please give me my nurses and cleaners, I already have pathologists and radiologists, we comfortably improvise for the remaining (e.g. we have private pharmacies all around), the hospital would function optimally, no one would be missed, everyone would understand their place... Proffer an effective alternative solution?

A solution?
it depends on your ideologies, my friend. What I would do is pragmatic not idealistic.

Effective?
Yes.
Amoral?
Yes.
How well is it used?
Quite well, but as a species, we forgotten it.

My method is really quite simple:
Go where you are treated best.

Forget trying to save a broken nation.
History shows time and time again that this fails.
Think about all the people that tried to stop Hilter. All those well-meaning activists could not fix a broken system and paid with their lives. Neither can we.

Forget nationalism.
The Syrians are nationalistic as well but everyday, millons are killed in a senseless war.
The Jewish Germans were as well.
African-Americans are as well but many are killed and unfair sentences are given.
Search Wikipedia, 90% of the time, resistance against a government's evil policy is futile.
it is only a 10% chance, that is why their names are in the history books.
No offense to anyone, but Nigeria is just an accident of birth. You could have be borne in Quatar.
I do not see how it makes sense to defend an accident of birth.
If you were born with diabetes?
Would you be proud?
Would you say, "I am proud diabetic"?
So, why the hell should we be "proud" of any nation? Of Nigeria?
Nigeria is nothing but three major tribes being joined togther but a greedy British overlord so that it would be easier to control.

Forgive my rant.
Like I said, go where you are treated best.
If Nigeria is in a mess, find a state that isn't.
If Nigeria is in a total mess, go to anywhere else that is better.
Countries such as Bahamas, Panama, Chile are examples. They boast of social, economic, political freedoms.

Like I said, it is amoral. But I won't go fighting a system. I got a family that needs me.

I do believe the essence of education is defaeted in this part of the world where university graduates cannot reason rationally.....This whole power show is unnecessary, NMA, JOHESU and FG have their own share of the blame. Why would FG nuture trouble in a sector of such importance by promoting unaccepted inequality that is not seen anywhere in the world? Let us all reason like humans with brains

I strongly advised JOHESU to explore other means of resolving issues with government. people are dying daily due to this strike and as it stands now, government is clearly not interested in them.

They ve been patience enough since 2009. Govt shld reach agreement wit em and stop avoiding meetings. They yielded to NAFDAC cos they r losing money, now they can't reach agreement with hospitals since they don't care about patients. Naija is where money comes first before life.

And let me ask you, which other group of health professionals would have saved the prof if present? Is it d nurses? In this kind of emergency, nurses skills are often irrelevant. They are only needed after patients have been stabilized.
Did your people not lock up all the important equipments when they went on strike? Despite all that, patients are still being managed on outpatient basis, and a few being admitted. That is going on, notwithstanding that over 90% of the work force are not on ground.
We all agree everybody is important. The issue only arises when you want a radiographer for example, to be equal to a radiologist or an optometrist to be equal to an ophthalmologist or even a nursing officer becoming equal to a medical officer. That can never happen.

You said you can buy outside na, why didn't you stock up since you are the CMDs. Yeye people. Who would compound preps for the patient who would store them. Who would administer. Who would manage the expiry date, give proper advice. who is the medical Physicst on ground, what about the Radiographer, etc.

The dietician.
