This lie has often been told mostly by PDP members sympathetic to Jonathans continued stay in power. This is both for educating the younger ones on our history as well as correct the frequent utterances by many ignorant people claiming Hausa/Fulani has ruled Nigeria for 40 years.

1960 to1966 Tafawa Balewa/Nnamdi Azikiwe. There has been controversy with regards to who really had the executive power as Azikiwe's Presidency was more or less ceremonial. So we assume based on executive powers that the 1st Prime Minister is from a minority ethnic group known as Sayawa.

1966 to 1966 Aguiyi Ironsi Theophilus. So the 2nd head of State was of Igbo ethnic stock and stayed barely few months befor he was murdered amidst the start of our dark era of civil war.

1966 to 1975 Yakubu Gowon. He was the longest ruling military head of State and was toppled in 1975. He is a Christian from minority ethnic group of Angas.

1975 to 1976. Murtala Ramat Mohammed emerged after Gowon but also had a brief stay as he was assassinated. He was born in Kano but his ethnicity is still unclear even though he is generally regarded as Hausa. So he was the 1st head of State from Hausa/Fulani ethnic group.

1976 to 1979 Olusegun Obasanjo emerged after Murtalas death and became the 1st military head of State to embrace democracy. He is of Yoruba ethnic group.

1979 to 1983 Shehu Shagari from Hausa/Fulani ethnicity was in power as a democraticaly elected President.

Well it is true that the people who screwed-up their only shot in 6 months will be bitter against better managers who achieved more in 6 years and still going strong!

1983 to 1985 had Muhammadu Buhari as head of State following military take over. Buhari is of Hausa/Fulani ethnicity.

1985 to 1993 Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida was the military President. His 8 year stay makes him the 2nd longest ruling military head of State. His ethnicity is of minority Gwari.

1993 to 1993 Ernest Shonekan stayed 3 months as interim President. He is of Yoruba ethnic group.

1993 to 1998 was Abachas eventful 5 years in power. He was of Kanuri ethnic stock though also born and bred in Kano.

1998 to 1999 had Adulsalami Abubakar as head of State. He became the 2nd military ruler to embrace democracy. He is of Nupe ethnic group.

1999 to 2007 saw the return of Olusegun Obasanjo as a civilian President. He is Yoruba.

2007 to 2009 had Umar Musa Yar'Adua as Obasanjos brief successor. He was of Hausa/Fulani ethnic group.

2009 to 2015 Goodluck Ebele Jonathan succeeded Yar'Adua. I must however state that he was not completely in charge for the entire 6 years as Nigeria stayed without head for some months and he 1st ruled under acting capacity before being fully sworn in in 2010. He is from minority Ogbia ethnic group.

What exactly is your point? Are they all not northerners or atleast front men for the Arewa-Odua gang up?

The 40years of Northern rule remains valid. Abagworo, you need to try harder.

Well, it is also true that those who thought that the gain they obtained in 1970 would remain till eternity, woke up to the reality of "powerlessness" oweing to divine intervention in 2010, found themselves in the periphery of things since then, and are now back worshipping and playing second fiddle to their Northern masters in an unholy alliance fated for defeat, in forlorn hope of re enthroning their masters and rewinding the time back to the immediate post 1970 Nigeria.

North is different from Hausa/Fulani.

North has always been a toy in the hands of Hausa-Fulani.

Anyone could be their front man, as Gowon obviously was, but the real controllers were often behind the scene.

You are too confused and unreliable. In attempt to justify Northern Oligarchy you deliberately want us believe Balewa and Azikiwe shared power in equal proportion.

Secondly, where do you get this information that gave GEJ 6 years?
