@Babyosisi you have asked a pertinent question and the title of this thread should be changed to your question"APC should name one Nigerian that was truly jailed for corruption" or we open another thread for that. We can not sweep Buhari false democratic posture under the carpet, the man is a total fraud and PDP should up their game by exposing this man.

It's easy. There's a guy who said Buhari killed his father, but he is ready to vote to bring him to power again!
True talk.
People who have a little bit more than WASC know that if one doesn't watch himself, the thing that killed his father(or mother) may end up killing him too. 1984 and 2015 are not too far apart, except there is a monster parading to come back as a reformer, don't be fooled.

What you are describing here are the selling points of Buhari. I have heard it said for more than 30 years that if you want to clean up Nigeria, the blood of some people spoiling the country would need to be shed. Also many have called for revolution many times. Having a Buhari is the only solution we have to solving the corruption problem without bloodshed. Things are getting serious, the debt is already $69bn and the foreign reserves are just enough for 4 months of importation, Naira will fall to N220 to the dollar by April. Dr. Clueless knows that he has reached the limits of his abilities. My brother, corruption has to die for Nigeria to live and Buhari will be welcome with open arms and millions of winning votes by FeBuhari.

OP you are a liar and Mischievous. For the sake of clarity I will respond to everything....

1. Lateef Jakande was arrested, charged for treason, convicted but was later pardoned by the administration of Muhammadu Buhari.

2. Jim Nwobodo was jailed for 22 years and convicted for looting the treasury of Old Anambra state.

3. Ambrose Ali was convicted to 100 years in prison for diverting state resources (983,000) to his party. However, Chief Igbenedion paid fine on his behalf and got him released.

4. Nduka Irabor and Tunde Thompson were both convicted for one year for publishing false report and their employer (Guardian) was fined N50,000. For the benefit of those who aren't aware, They had published in The Guardian of April 1 & 8, 1984 stories with the headlines “Eight Military Chiefs Tipped as Ambassadors” and “Haruna to Replace Hannaniya”(Which was misleading as at then). They were given fair trial.

5. Ojukwu was arrested during the period when politicians were rounded up and investigated. He was later found out to be clean and released unconditionally. I understand how bad that would had been as at then but that he was released unconditionally showed that the administration wasn't out for a witch-hunt.

6. Bisi Onabanjo was duly convicted of corruption charges.

7. Alex Ekweme was arrested for corruption and his trial was ongoing. Brig General Tunde Idiagbon had announced that the sum of $56,000 was found in his house. Did he deny the claim till this date?

8. Sam Mbakwe was arrested for enriching members of his cabinent through attrocious allocation as "security vote".

9. Fela was arrested, convicted and jailed for breaking the money trafficking law though he had argued that the money was legitimately earned. Buhari's only "offence" was not giving him state pardon, instead he allowed the sentence of the judge to prevail. It has nothing to do with any billion dollars. By the way, no dollar is missing anywhere.

10. Tai Solarin was arrested and jailed for abusing the government by what was described as “acts prejudicial to state security” according to the government. This is one of the flaws of Muhammadu Buhari. Suffix to say that he wasn't entirely perfect, jailing Tai Solarin on such charge was uncalled for.

11. Busari Adelakun: It seems you don't know him. Busari was one of the Governor-thug of Oyo state in the mould of Akala. As Governor, he unleased cutlass on machete on opponents. Ask about the grandmasters of amala politics, Busari tops it. He was jailed for his sins while in office.

12. 14 Lawal Ojuolape, Benard Ogedengbe, Bartholomew Owoh: The trio was convicted of drug traficking and were executed. They weren't executed unjustly and were the only people to be executed by the administration.

OTHER CONVICTS ARE
1. ABBA MUSA RIMI, KADUNA STATE, to 21 years in jail for corruptly enriching 96 legslators of the State House of Assembly by N500,000

2.. AWAAL MUHAMMED IBRAHIM, convicted and jailed for corrupt practices.
3. GOV ADAMU ATTAH, KWARA STATE, convicted and jailed for enriching members of his government through the guise of security vote.
4. Melford Okilo, convicted to 21 years in prison for operating foreign account while in government which is against the law.
5. Abubakar Rimi, convicted for 21 years for receiving bribe
6. SABO BAKIN ZUWO, convicted for 21 years for accepting property bribe, convicted for looting Kano state and had a cummulative jail term of 300years. He was a FULANI from Kano state.
7. Akpa Aku, convicted for 21 years for dipping his hand into Benue Cement. The tribunal had told him that though BC was established and owned by the government, the company still belongs to benue people and not him.

Apart from Odumegwu Ojukwu, Tai Solarin and Lateef Jakande, all others were duly convicted/facing trials. Only people who are corrupt or of questionable character will victimise Mr. Buhari for his patriotic act of weeding the system of bad elements.

GOVERNOR ABBA MUSA RIMI, KADUNA STATE
On 28 March 1985 a Special Military Tribunal sentenced
Rimi to 21 years in jail for corruptly enriching 96
legslators of the State House of Assembly by N500,000.
Rimi said he had given the money to the legislator "for
keeping the law and order in their constituencies"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abba_Musa_Rimi
RELEASE:
Rimi was released by General Ibrahim Babangida. He
joined the People's Democratic Party in 1998 and vied for
President in 2003 under the PDP platform.
GOVERNOR AWAAL MUHAMMED IBRAHIM, NIGER STATE
He was convicted by the military tribunal for corrupt
practices in 1984. Released by IBB and barred from
holding political office by the IBB regime in 1986. He was
appointed Emir of Suleja in 1993 amid protest by Sulejas.
He was kicked out of the Emir Stool in 1994. In 2000, he
was reappointed Emir by the PDP Governor Abdulkadir
Kure in 2000.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Awwal_Ibrahim
GOVERNOR AMBROSE ALI, BENDEL STATE
Fmr. Bendel Governor Ambrose Alli was jailed for
100years for misappropriating funds belonging to Bendel
State to the tune of N983,000. The Money was meant for
road project but he donated it to his Party. He was later
freed when Sir Gabriel Igbenedion paid fine to the
Government. Ambrose Ali had claimed that it was the
contractor incharge of the road project that GAVE him the
money to give to his party-Which he did.
The Military Tribunal found him guilty for diverting State's
money to his party.
Ali's Son still maintained that it was the contractor that
Gave him(Ali).
Sir Gabriel Igbenedion paid a fine to have Ali regain
freedom
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/
Ambrose_Folorunsho_Alli#Later_career
ACCORDING to his Son
“Also, he was tried for several things. Even the tribunal
could not find him guilty of corruptly enriching himself
or any other individual. Rather, he was found guilty of
‘corruptly enriching his political party’ – and, unlike
what some think, he didn’t give state funds to the UPN.
Rather, a campaign contribution was given to the UPN
treasurer in Bendel State by a contractor to the Bendel
State Government. Dad accepted that as UPN
chairman in the state and the chief executive of the
state he was responsible, even though he himself did
not personally accept or disburse the money.

VICE PRESIDENT ALEX EKWEME
Brig. Tunde Idiagbon told reporters Thursday that the
stockpiles of money ranged from $56,000 found at the
home of former Vice President Alex Ekwueme, to $4.5
million at the residence of the last civilian governor of
Kono State, Alhaji Sabo Bakin Zuwo.
http://www.nytimes.com/1984/01/21/world/around-the-
world-nigeria-says-it-recovers-millions-from-ex-
aides.html
AFTER RELEASE:
He became a founding member of the PDP and had vied
for the Presidency unsuccessfully in 1999.
GOV ADAMU ATTAH, KWARA STATE
The political godson of Dr Olusola Saraki was convicted of
corruption by Military special tribunal in 1984.
According to Historian, Max Siollun
Although the harsh sentences and nature of the
tribunals were criticised, it is arguable that Nigeria
needed these Nuremberg style trials in order to free
itself from its corrupt past. The era of Buhari and
Idiagbon was the first, and only time that Nigerian
public officials were tried, and held accountable for
their actions in office
However the controversy surrounding the tribunals’
composition created enough justification for Babangida
to release the jailed politicians without the public
asking whether irrespective of the nature of the
tribunals, the defendants were actually guilty of the
offences they were convicted of.
