Muslim Goes to Mecca – and Finds Jesus!
Thursday, May 15, 2014 | Charles Gardner

A Turkish Muslim who made a pilgrimage to Mecca in a desperate attempt to get his life back on track returned as a Christian to the great astonishment of his family.

Ali, a Kurd, suffered from alcohol addiction when friends persuaded him to make Hajj (pilgrimage) to Islam's holy city. It was in Saudi Arabia, where liquor is banned, and the religious ritual might cure him, they suggested.

When he got there, he cried out to God for help (if indeed He was there) and fell asleep.

Jesus then appeared to him in a dream and touched him, saying: "You believe in me now; leave this place."

After taking a shower next morning, he discovered what he thought was dust on the part of his chest Jesus had touched, but in fact the hair on his chest had turned white in the shape of a hand! At the traditional celebration marking his return from Hajj, he announced to his incredulous family that he had seen Jesus in Mecca and had come back a Christian.

He burst out crying in front of his wife and asked forgiveness for the way he had treated her, clearly demonstrating a dramatic change in his life.

But for three years he had no access to a Bible and it was seven years before he met another Turkish Christian.

He eventually started a church in Ankara, the capital, which he has recently handed over to trusted elders in order to begin a new work in Eastern Turkey, where he was raised.

At the Crossroads, hosted at Christ Church in the heart of Jerusalem's Old City, is aimed at deepening the bonds of reconciliation between Arab Christians and Jewish followers of Jesus and is being attended by delegates from a number of Middle East countries including Iran, Egypt, Cyprus and Jordan.

Speaking in Turkish (translated through headsets for those who needed it), Ali spoke of how Abraham was also his ancestor, and how he saw it as part of his mission to help re-unite the children of Isaac and Ishmael (Abraham's children by different wives).

Illustrating how family division can cause lasting conflict among the children affected, he said it was no different for the descendants of Abraham who continue to be embroiled in much strife and contention with each other.

But now it was time for reconciliation. "We have a very important ministry - to reconcile the world," he said.

But it could only be done through Jesus. "Everybody in Turkey says they believe in God," he said. "But people are persecuting me!"

In a further example of reconciliation, a Palestinian delegate from Hebron (where Abraham is buried) said: "I was one of those who hated the Jews, but Jesus changed my life."

A number of Israeli pastors responded by laying hands on him in prayer and offering words of encouragement.

Speaking for myself, I was profoundly moved when during a communion service the previous night I was surrounded by a Turk, Egyptian, Iranian, Armenian and an Israeli originally from South Africa.

Although there was a language barrier in some cases, we embraced each other without words during the traditional 'peace' greeting that immediately precedes the sharing of bread and wine.

The conference - including worship sessions - is also being held in English, Hebrew and Arabic

Now if Islam is approved by God or Jesus a muslim, why did he (Jesus) call the man out of Hajj? Muslims should think about this and come to Jesus for salvation.

Delirium tremens. Lol.

Stop wasting your time. We muslims do not believe in visions. Any devil can come and tell you "I am Jesus, I am God. Do this and that".

Incidentally, all these ex-muslims that form movements and so on, end up being fraudulent. They know how gullible christians can be, so they cook up the kind of unsubstantiable story that christians love to hear, then make a living off the story. Any unscrupulous muslim can do it.

419 things.

That is, if christians didn't cook up the story themselves, as they have been known to do.

Still 419 things anyhow.

And the devil would direct a person to Jesus, who your quran recognizes as a true prophet?

Who did he want to deceive in Turkey and make a living from it where he had no access to the Bible for many years?

He would direct him to worship Jesus, yes. He did not direct him to the true path followed by Jesus... strict monotheism. The devil wants people to be polytheists. Did you think he would tell people to worship bad men? How successful would he be then?

@the bold, you muslims don't believe in visions yet you believe Mohammed saw vision and as a result wrote the koran?

If muslims don't believe in visions, that makes the koran useless no?

The motto of a muslim would be:

"Bring forth your evidence, if you are truthful" Q2:111

The Revelations brought by the prophet (saw)?
Those were backed by thousands of witnesses and the everlasting beauty and logic of the Qur'an evident even today. Even his enemies witnessed his deeds, and confessed to the righteousness of that which he preached. Were it not so, no one would have accepted his message.

Not someone just saying whatever he wants and we all go ooooooh aaaaah and start running helter skelter. That is gross gullibility, muslims are not permitted to be gullible.

Worshippers of Mammon always find life unmeaningful when they are broke. How was a drunkard worshipping Allah? In the beer parlour?l
Which language did he call on 'God' in? Maybe if he had called on Allah, rather than other gods, Allah would have saved him from polytheism.

The devil does not care about his apology to his wife, if it makes his message more credible. The man can be led to behave like a saint, if Satan thinks it can mislead more people to the fire.

The whole of quran is one-man vision. A testimony of only one man without any confirmation, yet muslims believe. How are they sure it was not a devil Muhammad saw moreso that his message contradicts the earlier Scripture?

Interesting!

You talked about evidence and witnesses....

Correct me if am wrong, the prophet said he saw an angle who tried to strangle him and compelled him to read....
Did any other person see the angel?
Did anybody see the book or anywhere the angel inscribed what he was reading?
What was the evidence to prove he saw an angel or any witness to that?
If there is not, why then do you believe him or how did you get convinced?

Let's start from here

There is confirmation aplenty; authentic and widespread. The whole body of hadith sciences serves to confirm the truth of the message of the prophet (saw). In fact, confirmations of the Qur'an are more in number and have superior authenticity to the authorship of the Bible or any other book in history.

Hajj is not the place of God, hence Jesus told the man to leave.

Allah forgot to tell the muslims how Abraham and Ishmael got to Mecca from Israel and what brought them there. He also forgot to tell them when and how they exited Mecca.

I asked a question, which none of them was able to answer: Was Ishmael born in Mecca, if no, how did he get there and when and how did he exit including Abraham?

All the questions remain unaswered and yet they say Abraham and Ishmael built Kaaba, where Hajj is performed. Why would Jesus not ask His beloved to leave hajj as He has no hand in it?

Let's start from here

-That was just one incident of a narration of 5verses in Surat al Alaq. The Qur'an was revealed over a total of 23years... enough time for a refutation to occur, but was not forthcoming.
-Yes, the angel was seen by the companions on different occasions. Many hadith exist of one companion or the other seeing Jubril, and even hearing lessons on Islam from him. Reference the hadith of Umar ibn alKhattab for example, when the angel came to teach them the pillars of their religion... among others.
-There were other signs of his prophethood as well; his total honesty for all his life, whereby even his enemies would keep their money safely with him (such a man would not lie), his ability to perform beneficial miracles, his prophetic manners, his ability to predict things that would happen in future, in a clear, specific and unambiguous manner; even many that are happening today... 15 centuries later. His standing miracle; the Qur'an which till today could not be matched in its beauty or form. It is totally free from contradictions and errors, and has not failed in a single prediction.

You see, we take his life as a whole to see what kind of greatness he possessed.

He was not born there. He was taken there by his mother Hagar, when Abraham's first wife drove them out.
He settled there.
What do you mean, how did he exit? By Alitalia, or Saudi airlines? He lived there. His father visited them there and on one or more of those visits, built the Kaaba.
What is so hard there. Sheeesh.
