Former military president, retired General Ibrahim Babangida, yesterday received the APC presidential candidate, retired General Muhammadu Buhari in his residence in Minna.
Buhari who arrived Minna in the afternoon went straight to the rally ground before he subsequently went to the Hilltop mansion of the former military ruler. Buhari told IBB that he was in his house to seek his support.
“We hope we will get your support, despite the fact that I couldn’t get former president Obasanjo to convert to APC,” he said.
In his response, IBB tasked the delegation on peaceful conduct during the elections.
“Some of us are fading away but he (Buhari) is still going strong. We will support you in this cause,” IBB said. Thereafter, Buhari also had a brief private meeting with his host before leaving.
During the rally, the APC presidential delegation also received dozens PDP stalwarts who defected to the party.
