So WHERE is it? Even if in some warped and myopic way, someone interprets the law to mean that he doesn't have to show proof why won't he accede to the requests of the people whom he preaches change to? The people whom he is appealing to for votes? With this level of supposed intelligence and academic excellence touted by some about GMB, one would think he'd know enough to keep a copy or copies of his certificates! Kai! The Military you seem to believe is too conscientious to promote without certificate cannot lose same conscientiousness on its record keeping now can it?

The letter of recommendation was allowed for him to join the army but it's not enough for him to contest for the office of the president of Nigeria. Letter of recommendation is not School Certificate or it's equivalent. Thanks

Barcanista, d moment of truth has arrived.

I just read a Channels TV article where the content of this letter of recommendation was shown to the press. Two things were made clear therein:

1. Buhari NEVER passed SSCE at any thing as he claimed to have only had 4 credits and a Pass in his Schedule Cert (less than the 5 required credits)_ and we suspect all the others were Fs with no single A.

2. At the time of writing this letter of recommendation, the principal clearly stated that Buhari HAD NOT FINISHED SECONDARY SCHOOL cos he said he believed he would pass.

Buhari was NEVER qualify to enter the military nor is he qualifued to run for President. He COULDN'T even pass common School Cert. Quota system, nepotism, favoritism made him who is he today.

That's what's up for now.... Maybe more coming sef
Just Go to Court Oga.... Simple

If PDP feels hard done by, they know where the court is

In civilised countries, people do not call their Generals illiterate, they respect them.In US,a career in the military is as prestigious as any other career in the world, including those requiring PhDs.

But in my country, somebody is calling a whole General that put his life on line so that Nigeria could remain one, an illeterate.I am shedding tears! cry

Since some people have chosen to remain daft, here is the constitutional requirements again:

Section 318 of the constitution

"School Certificate or its equivalent" means

(a) a Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent, or Grade II Teacher’s Certificate, the City and Guilds Certificate; or
(b) education up to Secondary School Certificate level; or
(c) Primary Six School Leaving Certificate or its equivalent and -
(i) service in the public or private sector in the Federation in any capacity acceptable to the Independent National Electoral Commission for a minimum of ten years, and
(ii) attendance at courses and training in such institutions as may be acceptable to the Independent National Electoral Commission for periods totalling up to a minimum of one year, and
(iii) the ability to read, write, understand and communicate in the English language to the satisfaction of the Independent National Electoral Commission, and
(d) any other qualification acceptable by the Independent National Electoral Commission;

Section 31 of the electoral act is also very clear:

31. -(1) Every political party shall not later than 60 days before the date appointed
for a general election under the provisions of this Act, submit to the
Commission in the prescribed forms the list of the candidates the Party
proposes to sponsor at the elections.
(2) The list or information submitted by each candidate shall be accompanied
by an Affidavit sworn to by the candidate at the High Court of a State,
indicating that he has fulfilled all the constitutional requirements for election
into that office.
(3) The Commission shall, within 7 days of the receipt of the personal
particulars of the candidate, publish same in the constituency where the
candidate intends to contest the election.
(4) Any person may apply to the Commission for a copy of nomination form,
affidavit and any other document submitted by a candidate at an election and
the Commission shall, upon payment of a prescribed fee, issue such person
with a certified copy of document within 14 days‖.
(5) Any person who has reasonable grounds to believe that any information

INEC has accepted what Buhari has presented.Mischief makers should go to court or commit suicide!

ADDENDUM:

Up till this moment, entry into the Armed Forces in Nigeria is still based on Quota System/Federal Character. As at 1962 when Muhamadu Buhari enlisted in the Nigerian Military Training College, Kaduna, the pre-requisite qualification was attendance and passing out from a Secondary School. All what were required then were a Testimonial and Recommendation from the School.
Buhari attended the Nigerian Military Training College, Kaduna, now renamed Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), now equivalent of a University in Nigeria. From 1962 to 1963, he underwent Officer Cadets training at Mons Officer Cadet School in Aldershot in England. From Nov. 1963 to Jan.1964, Muhamadu Buhari attended the Platoon Commanders' Course at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna. Also in 1964, Buhari attended the Mechanical Transport Officers' Course at the Army Mechanical Transport School in Bordon, United Kingdom. Muhamadu Buhari attended the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, India in 1973.
From 1979 to 1980, Colonel Muhamadu Buhari attended the Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, U.S.A and graduated with a Master's Degree in Srategic Studies.

With all these academic qualifications obtained by General Muhamadu Buhari, Buhari is not an illiterate. He is highly educated.

All Buhari supporters must now apologise unreservedly for spouting inanities about Buhari having the requisite qualification for an army career. US army amongst others has been misled. No certificates, otherwise the principal would not have intervened decisively. The apologies must be tendered immediately by all the APC in the house

Enough of all this. You don't have his credentials but you recruited him and he rose to the rank of a general before becoming the head of state.
I guess the same way people want us to ignore his certificate and allow him to contest is the same way rules and protocols were skipped for him then. You cant build something on nothing and expect it to stand. Even his military ranks and benefit should be scraped because he is not qualified ab initio.

My friend, no matter how strongly you feel about this issue, there's nothing you or PDP can do about it.why do you think PDP hasn't gone to court yet?? They know what you don't know which is that the case is DOA.

Section 131(d) of the constitution didn't ask for a certificate no matter how emotional you feel about it. It simply asks a candidate to have education of school cert level and the recommendation from his principal would have confirmed that and Section 318 explains what school cert equivalent means. Try and get a copy of the constitution to know.

Like I said, there's a reason why PDP hadn't sought the court option wink

@ ceo4eva

Can you modify and paste the full army press statement on the original post?

Because quite a no of people do not understand the implications here.

The army states at the point of enlistment he, Buhari came with a recommendation letter from his principal.

Without a Certificate.

Nevertheless on the Nigerian Army Entry form after commission as an officer he indicated he obtained a Wassc certificate with credits in 5 subjects and one pass.

There were no proofs that he's Certificate was verified.

Neither the Original copy, or True certified copy are in his personal file.

The Question is where is this Certificate or the Copy?

This is a Test for True Nigerians against Corruption, Nepotism, and Tribalism etc

The path of integrity for the Gen is to prove that, he indeed has this certificate he has used to attain so much from the Nigerian state.

And to dis abuse my mind, that he is a beneficiary of Lies, Cheating, Mismanagement, Nepotism and Man know Man, to get his way to being not only a General, but my Former head of state and on his way to becoming my President.

APC do the needfull please.

Before you fall victim to PDP deceit. Here are the facts.

1. Buhari is duly qualified to be President of Nigeria (see his CV below)

2. The Original Copies of his credential were looted when his home was vandalized after the coming of IBB and Buhari's arrest.

3. Buhari in his education and training in Nigeria, India, United Kingdom and the United States has qualification equivalent to Masters Degree.

4. Buhari in the election and other subsequent outings has submitted a sworn affidavit which fully backed by law.

5. Buhari have not contravened any electoral law or the constitution in all he has done.

The law says if you don't think Buhari have sufficient credentials, go to court. Jonathan is the C-in-C he knows the truth. PDP are only barraging Nigerians with this issue to see if they can distract you and smuggle their 6yrs failure of Jonathan's administration.

Buhari is, and more than qualified. Don't fall victim of PDP's campaign of madness.

This Valentine, it is all about Nigeria - Sai Buhari.

Arrant Nonsense!

Even if buhari's certificates were looted, stolen. eaten by his dog, burnt, grew wings and flew away, buhari should go to the school that issued the certificate, and get another one. Let buhari put this to rest by providing and publishing them. I lost my degree certificate in the past, but I went back to my school, they verified my identity and issued me a replacement copy. When President Obama's place of birth was put in doubt by the republicans during election, Obama simply published his birth certificate in the media. The onus is on buhari to unequivocally clear this up by simply going back to his old school and getting a replacement, you call him 'Mr. Integrity', well, let him show integrity in this simple and easy task then.
