http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/01/certificate-saga-buhari-can-request-verification-waec/ The West African Examinations Council, WAEC, has stated that if General Mohammadu Buhari applies to WAEC for his results, it will be verified and forwarded to appropriate institution where the results is needed. WEAC Deputy Director, Public Affairs, Lagos, Mr. Yusuf Ari in a telephone conversation with Vanguard on Wednesday said, “No individual has the legal right to approach WAEC for the verification of another person’s result except the owner of the result.” He explained that the constitutional right vested on the Freedom of Information law does not include invasion of privacy adding, “The certificate in question belongs to Muhammadu Buhari and he alone has the right to apply for verification. “Be that as it may, WAEC cannot take any action except, the owner of the certificate asked us to do so. We are an independent body, therefore, we cannot be partisan on this issue,” he said. According to Ari, all the former Head of State needs to do is to apply by given WAEC the name of his school, Examination number and year of the examination and the result will be verified. However, after verification of the results, it will be forwarded to the institution and not the owner of the results. |

Why has Buhari failed to approach WAEC for his result?? Rather he went to the same school his principal falsely issued him a letter of recommendation saying 'he will pass' WAEC when he had not even sat for the exam. Mr intergrity better do the needful and apply to the right issuing authority which is WAEC rather than the fake one his school has provided. Kapish  5 Likes 1 Share |

Well, who cares much about verification? We've seen enough of that phoney certificate. Let's get 2015 over and done with.. The South-West hold the key to GEJ's reinstatement. We and the South-South have already endorsed GEJ. And Buhari already owns the North! No individual has legal right... What of an entity? How do companies detect fake WAEC results? How do universities do same? The military can go ahead and do what they failed to do 53 years ago.

xcolanto:don't be ignorant. you need to read and comprehend the thread before commenting. WAEC said that only Buhari can apply for his result to be verify and the verification would be send to Buhari secondary school not to Buhari. which means it would be Buhari secondary school that will issue the WAEC recommendation. so even if apply to Waec, its the same secondary that would issue the results not buhari or waec. Am wondering what Buhari is waiting for that made him not to ve applied to WAEC for result verification since this saga started?? There are so many loopholes and questions concerning his results which only GMB himself can answer to and I hope he does the honourable thing and not the jargon press statement he gave earlier today. 1 Like |

People should forget this guy because we are never going to ascertain his true academic status for he will definitely request WAEC via paddy-paddy btw northerners to stamp their accent on his already forged statement of results....we probably are going to see a WASC/WAEC result of 1961 with grades on subjects especially Hausa that was never on the curriculum till 1974. 3 Likes |

themilanway: My friend it is WAEC that issues certificates. However schools often have records and some may have copies. It is Buhari that decided to go to his school instead of going to WAEC so he is the one you should be calling clueless. 2 Likes |
