Should We Give Our Tomorrow To A Yesterday Leader..? by darepoju(m): 7:12am On Jan 26, 2015
I WILL NOT GIVE MY TOMORROW TO A
YESTERDAY LEADER.
I was in the primary school, in 1983 to 1985,
when Gen. Pa Muhamadu Buhari was my head of
state. Like every other past leader he did his
best to make Nigeria grow. I don't want to talk
about what he did with the wrong methods.
Now I'm almost a grandfather, my teachers used
to tell us then that we are the leaders of
tomorrow. It is either my teachers lied or the
tomorrow has not come after 32years? Or is my
generation a lost-in-the-middle generation?
Buhari wants to be my president again? This
must a big joke.
Between that time and now, Pa Buhari has
stopped learning, he has not added value to his
life since the past 32 years. (He can not even
remember his phone number- GEJ).
He has lost all youthful agility and energy, he
can not even analyse simple economic or
political issues coherently.
I'm not saying I hate Pa Buhari or he didn't do all
he did for this nation at different times.
My point is that we have plenty other past
leaders who had served the nation at one point
or the other.
I challenges APC of selfishness. The real
verifiable change would have been any
combination of some of the following digital,
forward looking, youthful, intelligent, energetic
and performing APC members viz: Fashola,
Rochas, Tambuwah, Nda Isaiah, Kwankwoso or
even Oshiomhole and Amaechi.
All the fine methods Pa Buhari succeeded with in
his time as a military dictator will certainly not
work at this time -T.
I'm not a die-hard fan of GEJ, but Pa Buhari is
certainly not the change agent from GEJ. I think
and I believe that GEJ represents a change from
the old order which Pa Buhari belongs.
Buhari seem to me like a person who has bottled
up anger against some few Nigerians.
He must acquire political power at all cost
(including even allegedly sponsoring many
killings) to pay back because he does not
forgive.
As an elder statesman, who claimed to love
Nigeria, let him (He has said he can) help us end
insurgency. He even avoided talking for Boko
Haram when they appointed him their
representative sometime ago.
No, he must be president before he will agree to
help stop this senseless killing of the people he
claim to love. ( Pretentious bigot)
APC missed a golden opportunity to actually
change the leadership of this country but, Pa
Buhari and Pa Tinubu allowed their personal self
interest supersede the change interest of APC
and the entire Nigerians.
We all need change, we all yearn for change, but
it will be very undiscerning and uninformed to
embrace change only for the sake of change.
It is baffling the way some Buhari supporters are
going about selling this "blind change" to us as
if Buhari has a magic wand which he intend
using to whip all Nigerians into submission.
I refuse to flow along this "blind change"
I refuse to give my tomorrow to a yesterday's
leader.
Signed:
Avann Harvey.

Is your today better than your yesterday? I will leave you to answer loads of question when you read Prof.Chukwuma Soludo recent piece. One USDollars now exchange for #210Naira . Electricity bill, Fuel bill and the general cost of living. I would rather have a Change when things do not work as it should than let fear, sentiments decide my tomorrow. I deserve a better life, a better living, the past six years has shown me that things has taken a turn for the worst.
The question should rather be Do I need a change from what presently ails my country and my answer is YES!
Take a stock of your yesterday and be the judge. May God's help come speedily! Amen
