There was pandemonium at Iju community in Akure North Local Government Area, Ondo State, over the death of two young girls who were allegedly killed by some suspected ritualists at the weekend.

The community had since been thrown into mourning following the mysterious death of the young girls, Oyinkansola Owoeye and Folasade Bello, aged 12, who had gone to the farm on Saturday but did not return that day.

According to a source, after waiting for several hours and the girls did not return, their parents and other relatives began to search for them and in the farm but their lifeless bodies were later found by the road side.

There were machete cuts all over their bodies and their blood had been drained, indicating that the duo must have been murdered by ritualists .

Confirming the incidents, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO ) in the state, Mr Wole Ogodo, said he was yet to confirm whether the deceased were killed by ritualists but rather explained that they were killed by unknown assailants in the town.
