Zamfara

Since taking office, President Goodluck Jonathan has followed through on the ambitious plans laid out in his Transformation Agenda, delivering significant achievements across all states of the nation.

Below are some of his many achievements in Zamfara State:
Agriculture:

- Private Rice mill (Hi-Tech) has been established in the state boosting rice production, thanks to incentives provided through agricultural reforms put in place by the Jonathan administration.

- Constructed silos (100,000 metric tons capacity).

- Constructed Agricultural Skills Training Centre.

- Ended four decades of corruption in the fertilizer sector. Implemented the e – wallet system for the distribution of agricultural inputs to farmers.

- Implemented Dry Season farming projects.
Education:

- Established the Federal University, Gusau.

- Established girls boarding schools, boosting girl child education in the state.

- Established Almajiri schools, encouraging education for the less privileged in the state.

- Construction of new Library in Federal Unity school.
Health:

- Established a Cancer Screening Centre at the Federal Medical Centre, Gusau, which has improved cancer detection and treatment in the state.

- Established the SURE-P Project on Primary Health Care.
Transport:

-Completed rehabilitation of the Western railway corridor, improving transport options for both people and goods.
Water:

- Water quality surveillance safe storage & household treatment is ongoing.
Roads:

- Completed rehabilitation of the Anka-Daki Takwas-Gummi Road.

- Rehabilitation of Namoda Jiba Road Section IV.
Youth Empowerment:

- Launched YouWIN grants, which have been awarded to youths in the state.

- Launched the SURE-P youth empowerment scheme.
