Third world countries rely on the available and limited infrastructure/tools they have to carry out their day to day activities. Pervasive corruption has limited our chances of moving up the ladder in terms of technological know-how hence our continued reliance on house hold equipment like broom. Come FEBUHARI 14 when change must have been achieved, I see us moving from the use of brooms to vacuum cleaners, this can only be realised through the change agent APC. As for the umbrella, it's only a seasonal equipment and the PDP a seasonal party with little relevance.

Yes. Because the lower part of my body will still be exposed to the rain. A raincoat will do a better job.

1) most advanced countries dont use broom anymore, therefore it represent backwardness.

2 ) it is strictly traditional to africans, it represents a primitive mentality.

3) It is limited to africa, meaning it represents bondage and limitation. It means we cant go beyond our region to compete with the world.

4) the process of using it is so tedious and leads to waste pain. representing sickness.

5) the process of producing and using the broom is harder and too manual compared to the little price it is sold for. This means that u work so hard to earn little.

Umbrella on the hand

1) it is used globally, meaning no limitation.

2) cost less to manufacture but sells for more. meaning u work a little and earn more.

3) represents comfort and security from harsh weather, economic conditions etc

4) boost confidence and assurance, as most financial institutions and insurance firms use it as advert.

5) it is colourful unlike the broom and represents a bright future and happiness.

So u can tell what these items represent. When u see any party using these symbols you knw what to expect.

You need to distinguish between boko haram from the honest poor and probably civilian citizens who only request that they have a secure environment to practice their trade. If boko haram has prevented them from doing that while a vacuum cleaner is used to clean up the national wealth into personal coffers, why should you blame the victims of such circumstances for nothing that is not their making.

Some of the vacuumed cash would have been useful in fighting this poor illiterate Muslims and they would not have been needing handouts from APC because their craftsmanship would have been sufficient to sustain them.

If you live in the 1983, of course the broom is more relevant than the umbrella. But if you live in 2015 where the vacuum cleaner has long taken over the role of the broom then of course, the relevance of the umbrella far supercedes that of the broom except ofcourse you are a desert warrior who sees the rains once a year!!

This is 2015 and in modernized countries, the broom no longer exists. The umbrella would be with us until entire cities are covered with roof and I dont think that is happening in the next 2000 years!

So choose wisely. Its a choice between the the past and the future. Broom represents the past, umbrella represents the future!
