This encirclement of several thousand Boko Haram terror fighters is without question THE most audacious military victory by federal troops deployed on the orders of Commander in Chief President Jonathan Goodluck, against the invading forces of evil, that has been recorded since the conflict in Nigeria's morth east commenced a few years ago.

With the Boko Haram terrorist horde's vital supply lines for food and ammunition blocked by federal troops, on-the-go decisions are no doubt being made about how best to comprehensively annihilate the enemy forces without inflicting too much collateral damage on the civilian population. At the same time increasing desperation among the largely untrained terrorist gunmen will call for extra vigilance by federal troops as pockets of renegade enemy fighters try to sneak off across the desert scrub when those sand-storms kick up.

The next few days will see military history being made by the Nigerian Armed Forces amid the burning sands of far north, and despite all political partisanship that accompanies the impending national elections, the man at the eye of the storm, President Jonathan Goodluck calmly bestrides the tiger for those headlong bugle-charges into battles both military and electoral in nature.

Go Johnny Go !

This is good news.

There is also news from defence sources that about 35,000 - 40,000 Boko haram fighters are negotiating for surrender.

If they have truly encircled them, this is the time to unleash artillery barrage until they come out with their hands in the air.

If they miss this opportunity to end Boko Haram, all these soldiers that have the advantage now will be surprised when they are killed in a few years from now by the same terrorists they have just encircled

YEEEEEEEEEEES! LEGGO!
Like an advert I came across inside Tribune by Concerned Christian Youths of the North Central and Southern Nigeria. They said that Buhari filled in his presidential nomination form that he is the patron of National Association of Pastoralists but has never deemed it fit to openly condemn the senseless killings and destructions of farmlands and villages in the North central and southern Nigeria by Fulani herdsmen of whom he is their national leader. They concluded by saying they can never give him their votes no matter how badly Jonathan might have performed.
Meanwhile a friend wrote this on his FB wall.............
WHEN THE DITTY SEEMS ALLURING THAN THE
COMMODITY: OF POLITICS AND A DEBATE.
I was born and bred in Lagos and I still recall vividly
what it is that entices a customer to what you sell. It is
common parlance to see different sellers evolve
different ditty as a measure of drawing the attention of
their prospective customers. Much of this ditty become
a brand with which a seller is differentiated from
another. More often than not, the ditty plays a major
role in determining the sales of the seller. In fact, you
cannot be in a market such as Aswani,Katankow
a,Oyingbo,Idumota, and a host of others,and not
employ the use of a ditty. The same also applies to
those who are hawking one article of trade or the
other. Those who are exempted from this, as much as I
know, are those whose shops are situated within a
neighbourhood.
However, the ditty could also be a veritable instrument
of distraction and deceit. It will be foolhardy to
conclude that a commodity is good or in good shape
based on the way it is advertised. Experience has
taught me this although some people have learnt it the
hard way. There are many times that you will discover
that as alluring as the ditty may be,what is being sold is
nothing but a sham. Take Katankowa as an example, it
is not uncommon to hear the seller shout,"Buy my
cloth,na correct Grade A jean from Cotonou"(Buy this
cloth I sell, it is a Grade A jean pants from Cotonou)
and on sampling it, you come to discover that the Jean
in question is an unworthy Grade C Jean. As a regular
customer of the second-hand market, I have seen so
much of this to know better. I still even recall an uncle
of mine who went to buy a 'no-testing' TV. 'No-testing'
is a phraseology for electronic sets that you are
expected to buy without window-shopping it(although
it costs less compared to those which you can window-
shop). My Uncle was watching NTA newsline, less than
three weeks that he bought the TV, when the TV shut
down - that was the end of the TV.
Political debates can be seen as a form of window-
shopping. During the whole journey of campaigns,
what each candidate does is to make a run-through of
their manisfesto. Unfortunately, and as you find it in an
inaugural lecture or a sermon, the electorates are not
privileged to ask questions or allowed to have an
amplified position as regards the different
programmes that they seek to roll out. For instance,
when a candidate list Health as one of the sectors
where it aim to focus on, the debate will create the
needed avenue for such a candidate to explain how he
intended to go about his plans for the health sector.
The debate also allows the electorates to acquaint
themselves with what to expect should the candidate
emerge at the polls. This is the essence of a political
debate in every clime I know. As a student-politician in
my university days, political debates were a way of
testing the intellectual waters of each candidate as well
as a way of knowing how acquainted they are with
practices outside their immediate shores.
In Nigeria, political debates are not a new
phenomenon. It was through such debates that
Nigerians got to know of the intellectual poverty of
Bashir Tofa. The saddening thing however is that there
seem to be a recurrent tradition of shunning debates
by some political personages on thrump-up
allegations. Obasanjo started it by selecting what
debate to attend (He chose the NTA-organised debate);
Yar'adua followed suit in 2007; and Jonathan toed the
path in 2011. 2015 is here and we are already seeing a
replay of such a scenario. The APC which is having a
warm acceptance with the electorates is already
throwing it at us that their Presidential candidate will
not be attending the political debates. Suffice to say
that the APC had turned down the debates earlier
organised by Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria
(BON) as well as that of the National Elections Debate
Group (NEDG) on the ground of the partisanship of
those who are anchoring the debates. I quite agree
with the APC on the boycott of the two debates given
the unprofessional conduct of media outfits such as
AIT, NTA, and The Punch Newspaper in this whole
electioneering campaign. As I have maintained
elsewhere, such a debate will only be an inquisition.
Does anybody remember how NTA gave Obasanjo the
questions of the debate in 2003 and how someone
scribbled a sheet of paper to Obasanjo's palm when a
knotty question was posed at Baba?
However,I am still at sea over why the APC or any party
at that will refuse to participate in the Channels TV,
Arise TV, Newspaper Practitioners Association of
Nigeria (NPAN). Without mincing words, Channels TV
has remained the only hope of the Nigerian when it
comes to news reportage because of its near-objective
reportage of events. Arise TV is a new online TV and it
is owned by the owners of ThisDay newspaper- a
newspaper that boasts of some of the best columnists
in this country as well as an indepth report of news.
The Newspaper practitioners are a compendium of all
newspaper owners and much cannot be said of their
non-partisanship. Having explained the composition of
this debate, one cannot but wonder what claim of
partisanship the APC aims to throw up in defence of its
boycott this time around. Soludo recently admonished
in his article that the debates should begin but I doubt
how the debates can start when one candidate is
shying away from having a debate with others. How
can the electorates properly assess the programmes of
candidates if debates are not held. Both Jonathan and
Buhari have so much to answer and boycotting such
forum amounts to an insult on the collective
intelligence of the intelligentsia in this country.
Let me state here that as much as the literate (By this I
mean logical) ones in this country are not up to thirty
percent of the total population, no party should deny
this sacred population its birth-right as we are the ones
that determine how the opinion poll sways. It is our
duty as the intelligentsia to inform the remaining
seventy percent of what our thought process should
follow and we can only be informed when these
candidates afford us the needed information to
critically assess their ideas. As I have mentioned earlier
in this article, boycotting the debate amounts to selling
a 'no-testing' electronics to us. It is most pathetic that a
political party will call our bluff and still expect to have
our votes. That happens only in Nigeria!
As much as nothing can make me go for GEJ or
anything that represents it, I will not be so stupid that I
will give my vote to someone I cannot conveniently
assess his programmes. As much as I desire change, I
do not seek a 'no-testing' change. I remembered that in
2011 when I campaigned vigorously for GMB, I
criticized GEJ's refusal to attend a debate and it will
amount to double standard if in 2015 my GMB is
refusing to also attend a debate. As they say, those who
live in glass houses must learn not to throw stones.

You don't have sense, do you think you are talking to only nigerians? The chadian govt just read about your plan
oshyno:
A very gud news. I know some people wud wish the sluttering of citizens by this boko haram continues to harp on it as a weak point of GEJ to win election.

I say kill them all. Victory is assured.insha allah

*modified*

The involvement of Chadian army I wud say has a very big impact on d fight against these guyz. What I know for sure is that chad has been a safe haven for these BH. They strike in Nigeria and run to chad. Even looking at some BH killed sometimes ago I cudnt but agree that those were chadians with their curled hair nad fair completion.

But then the sudden turn around of chadian government irrespective of their ulterior motive is a welcome developement. I heard the Chadian president has eye on oil along the basin. I wud look the other way if I were GEJ. Allow Chadian's help to defeat Boko haram first then wen the dust is settled, he cud go for teritorial reclaiment. Bcuz even as a GEJ supporter, this boko haram menance is a big dent on his government and need be crushed asap.

If that number of insurgents are encircled you do nothing but keep the noose tight day and night. In 72 hrs they will start dropping like flies from thirst under that scorching sun. In two weeks they will begin to eat one another, then you attack.

My brother you're correct! These people are bottle necks to us as a nation. To think Nigeria had to be buying emergency fighter jets and hard wares instead of enjoying the power promised to us by Mr President. Am glad things are working fine so that we can enjoy his 2nd term in peace. Let these APC-Buhari rest their neck muscles. Go GEJ.

With Pincer manoervre actions of the chadeans to the north at Baga,Malam fatori etc in close coordination with Nigerians to the south at Konduga,Monguno before that suicide breakout attempt at Maiduguri on sunday...we predicted this was the beginning of the end for Boko haram because no guerrilla force in modern times have successfully fought and defeated national armies simultaneously on TWO fronts how much less a rag tag group that sources its weapons from skirmishes and moral support from opposition propaganda....the encirclement, isolation and ultimate destruction of Boko Haram is about to begin....Well done and Salute to Commander Goodluck for involvin the Chadeans..what a masterstroke!..
