Igbo youths, under the aegis of Ohaneze Ndigbo Youth Worldwide, have warned that they would retaliate any attacks by the North on Igbo indigenes and their businesses before, during and after the general elections.

President of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Worldwide, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, gave the warning in Yenagoa at the weekend after a solidarity visit to the President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Udengs Eradiri.



He called on the Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum (NGF) and Niger State Governor,  Babangida Aliyu, to prevail on  his colleagues to ensure adequate provision of security for the Ndigbo in the North.

Isiguzoro said though the Igbo in the North had been asked by the group to remain calm, any attacks on them would be responded with coordinated reprisals in the East and South-South regions of the country.

According to him, the call on NGF to ensure  security for Igbo indigenes was hinged on a security report that some northerners were planning to unleash violence in a bid to take  over the businesses and homes of the Ndigbo.

It's not a new thing... Northerners( hausas ) derives Pleasure from killing Southerners (especially Igbos ). It's in them, From time immemorial they've been doing this. Groups are preaching "say no to violence", but they don't listen to that, It's like telling a monkey; "say no to bananas"
