Former President Olusegun Obasanjo is under a wave of criticism for allegedly sleeping with his son’s wife. Obasanjo was summoned in court in what appears to be a messy divorce between Gbenga Obasanjo, son of the former President, and his estranged wife, Mojisola Olayemisi Amope, with the first son dropping a bombshell on his father’s alleged sexual intimacy with his wife, Moji.

The allegation was made by his son Gbenga in a sworn affidavit, submitted to a divorce court. This shocking revelation by his son Gbenga is contained in a sworn affidavit submitted to the court in response to a messy divorce case already in court.

Gbenga’s celebrated marriage to Moji, which took place at the Archbishop Vinning Memorial Church, Ikeja, in April, 2000, headed for the rocks barely four years after the lovebirds exchanged marital vows. Gbenga has sensationally accused him and his father-in-law, Otunba Alex Onabanjo, of sleeping with his wife, Mojisola Gbenga, presently asking Lagos High Court to dissolve the seven-year-old marriage, doubts the paternity of the fruits of the wedlock.

Moji had allegedly deserted her matrimonial home on 2 December, 2004 and never returned until this messy divorce battle that is bound to ruffle many feathers. The petitioner avers that he knows for a fact that the respondent committed adultery with and had an intimate, sexual relationship with, General Olusegun Obasanjo, in order to get contracts from the government.

“The petitioner avers that the Respondent also got rewarded for her adulterous acts with several oil contracts with the NNPC from his father, General Olusegun Obasanjo, amongst which was the NNPC Consultancy training in supply chain management and project management awarded to her company Bowen and Brown.

“The petitioner avers that lurid sexual relationship of the Respondent with her own father, Otunba Alex Onabanjo and his father General Olusegun Obasanjo, has brought him great pain and psychological trauma and is the primary reason for the breakdown of his marriage to the Respondent.

The case has been adjourned while the judge considers a request from Gbenga Obasanjo’s wife, Mojisola. Contracts Mojisola, who claims her husband was violent to her, has asked that the proceedings continue in private.

As part of divorce proceedings, Gbenga Obasanjo alleges that his wife slept with his father in order to get government contracts. All the while, the former president has kept silent on the subject.

Despite the lurid allegations and the shock that they have actually been made public, the real concern for many Nigerians is less the alleged sex life of their former president, but the failure of his administration to deliver basic services. In the most damaging investigation to date, a house of representatives panel has been asking what happened to the $13bn (£6.6bn) Mr Obasanjo’s government spent on power in his eight years in office – given that there is still a crippling lack of electricity in Nigeria.

There are apparently a lot of kids commenting in this thread. What we have hear is ONLY a sworn affidavit, which only states the views of a deranged son. Did he see President Obasanjo sleeping with his wife? NO. He himself made no such claim. Rather, he is only assuming that his wife must have slept with his father simply because she got contracts from him! That is indeed very silly of that bad son.

Gbenga took his lies to extreme extents when he alleges that his wife's father also slept with her! To what ends? Why would he suddenly start to sleep with his daughter for no obvious reason, despite that she had earlier lived under him, possibly for decades, without incident?! Again, Gbenga has NOT claimed to have seen his father-in-law sleeping with his wife. He has only assumed that.
