Haven't you ever read posts where Muslims explain that even authentic hadiths are not perfect, only the Quran is free of errors. But you would rather say no, that as long as a text is quoted from a hadith, it means that Muhammad (Peace be upon him) sanctioned it. I believe the verse is clear enough. But I'll explain it a little because of those who may not understand. You can also read other simple versions easier to grasp.

No man hath seen God because God is invisible (Col 1:15; 1 Ti 1:17) unless He chooses to reveal Himself.
However, the Son hath declared him- He hath revealed Himself in the Son John 14:9
