A week after protest was held in the Ghanaian capital Accra to protest a failing economy, another one has hit the country's second largest city Kumasi on the same theme.

Dubbed the 'Yabre' (We are fed up) demo the protest, organized by the country's biggest opposition, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) saw hundreds of demonstrators mostly dressed in black and red and bearing message-bearing placards.

Some demonstrators said they were out to protest in the hope of mounting pressure on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) led government to resolve Ghana’s frustrating power crisis as well as the ailing economy.

NPP vice presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and some top brass in the NPP were present.

Eyewitness reports say the central Kejetia district of Ghana's cultural capital was brought to a standstill as the demonstrators thronged the streets.

Yabre Protests
Kumasi is a stronghold of the New patriotic party and pundits believe the protest is both a great pre-campaign tool as well as a reminder to President John Mahama to do better in resolving the many problems the average Ghanaian is faced with on a daily basis, especially the energy crisis. Ghana goes to the polls next year.

Aggrieved opposition party always disturbing the peace of the public.
Same thing here in Nigeria APC won't let us hear word for once.
I thank God for Fayose if not for him APC for deceive me with their lies.
They nearly killed our beloved president and his family with attacks but as humble as he is he never for once complained.
Just a little dose of attack on Mallam Buhari and he is already peeing in his pants.
In other news.
How you living Mr Ayo Fayose for exposing APC lies and propaganda?
Ans: In Mansion and Benzes giving headache to APC and it feels stupendous.
How you feeling Mr Femi Fani Kayode for dumping APC?
Ans: Am feeling good like never before.
APC is dead and is on the news.
How do you feel going back to PDP Mr Barcanista?
I feel at home.
Is been a long time coming and am glad am finally home.
Just like the biblical prodigal son i've realised my mistakes and gone back to PDP.
In Jonathan we have seen real and positive change.

Ghana is a country next door that has before now been rising high in terms of development. This protest is just a wake up call that it must go back to the good old days when they had hope for a promising future.

Nigerians will need a lesson or two from these guys.
