Simply political!
A very simple question that begs honest answer: What has the Nigerian Army done in the last two weeks that it could not have done in the last 6 years? It is the same soldiers (who they accused of not being well trained) with largely same equipment except a few additions. Forget the hogwash of not having enough equipment. You simply ask what went off in Ikeja that sent fatal shockwave to Isolo during OBJ's regime. Was the Nigerian Army using bows and arrows in different missions across Africa and yet recorded that much success?
When the president - the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed forces wants something done in this country, it get done in no time. Now its time for GEJ to use BH to score cheap political goal. But those that can see knows that BH was left deliberately to go on killing spree for years even though they should have been wiped out in less than 2 weeks!
