Nigeria is a country characterized with over 371 tribes which makes it a common phenomenon to always have differences that if not managed properly could lead to disintegration of the country. Giving this touchy situation which the country inherited by shear providence, it has therefore required the efforts of Nationalist to keep the country intact irrespective of the numerous challenges that may surface. It is in this light that Nigerians commend the People's Democratic Party for its role in ensuring the sacrosanct unity of our great country.
Peoples Democratic Party is a political party in Nigeria and its policies lie towards the right wing of the political spectrum. It is the ruling party of the nation and considering the information gathered so far, it is a party with national outlook especially as it has all the geopolitical zones adequately represented and devoid of any religious or ethnic bigotry even as its offices are found in every ward of the federation, unlike a party just formed less than two years ago that has not been tested and proven and of course merged/formed across ethno-religious lines characterized with divisive tendencies as it is ready to plunge Nigeria into anarchy not minding whose blood is spilled in so far as they capture the seat of the federal government. The APC has clearly shown that the sanctity of Nigeria's unity is not paramount by there statements and actions as demonstrated in the way and manner in which they make frantic efforts to bring our great country into disrepute before the international community just to score cheap political goals.
It is in the light of the above that majority of Nigerians give kudos to President Goodluck's leadership style and peoples democratic party on whose platform Dr Goodluck is seeking for a second term as they have maintained decorum in the face of unguarded and gutter languages used by the opposition party to calumniate and blackmail the office of the presidency and the party(PDP) in this electioneering campaign. The APC resorted to hiring internet war lords to engage in mudslinging and casting aspersion on the person of the President, not minding the fact that the occupant of that office is the symbol of the nation. We as Nigerians will agree that we have made concrete progress as we are not where we were some years back, and PDP as a ruling political party no doubt may not have met all the needs of Nigerians, but that does not give APC the latitude to denigrate and frustrate the efforts so far recorded by this administration to the point of posturing to entrench anarchy in the system should they lose the general election as it is clear to all and sundry that the statement credited to the Director General of the APCP Gov Amaechi, that they would form a parallel government should they be short of victory. This clearly buttress the fact that these conglomerate of desperate politicians care little or nothing for the safety of Nigerians and the unity of Nigeria.
The PDP therefore may not be perfect as already stated, but the APC is not better either and Nigerians should remove the scales on their eyes placed by the APC propaganda machine and rise above sentiments by practically demonstrating their commendation of the PDP in keeping this nation intact come March 28.
