Lets get a few facts straight. Most Africans in the UK are there LEGALLY and are welcome as such. The illegals are given every opportunity to apply for asylum for many reasons. Detention centres are non the norm. Here is a true story of a friend I made - Tunji - a Yoruba guy that I met in Belfast in 2013. He came to London in 2007 and applied for asylum. He said his life was in danger because of some tribal thing. I have been going to Naija for 15 years now so I listened to his story and it was (as he later admitted) pure fantasy. He merely wanted an easy life. The UK authorities knew it was only a story as well! BUT as the law stands he could not be sent back if he claimed his life was in danger without exhausting MANY appeals. This process took from 2007 to 2014. He dragged it out as long as he could. In 2011 he moved from living in London to living in Belfast (I don't know how he managed that). I met him in 2013. He was living in a large 4 bedroom house with three other immigrants. The house was paid for by the UK government so rent free to him. The electricity and oil for central heating was also paid for by the UK government. While he was here he had free health care and medications (like all our citizens) and was given the current equivalent of 10,500 naira per week for food. If he had been married his wife would have been supported and entitled to funds also. If they had children those kids would also have been entitled to funds and FREE education. Finally after 7 years all his appeals were exhausted. He spent 2 weeks in a deportation centre outside Belfast then one week in a similar facility in England before being flown home. I don't know if it was a charter flight. Charter flights are merely a commercial airliner hired by an organisation to transport a group of people. The airliner can be basic or luxurious. Many holidaymakers in Europe travel by Charter flight for package holidays. So please don't think this is a terrible place. And don't think Africans are hated. Legal immigrants are welcome. Its the illegal immigrants from ANY country or continent who come to live off our welfare system that are returned. Genuine refugees are also assisted as much as possible. 1 Like |

Since they violate the laws of the land they should face harder penalties. It's not enough to just deport them and that is all. |

These is one of the. Example of what Africans are. Going. Through in UK, their govt there doesn't respect we black. The victim human right was trampled upon, which. Is totally wrong, I can't even blame them, when the people that ought to fight for their course are so much corrupt. Nigerians don't hv ambassador in all countries, we just have figure heads. Most of these so called ambassador don't knw the function of their office. They just allow their citizen to be maltreated anyhow in a foreign land. My prayer is that this Nigeria will. Later become great and then, we must pray for it to happen. God bless Nigeria. #youthrevolution |

ebenope: Please see my earlier post on the reality of the situation. All governments deport illegal immigrants (its not about race or anything - just that they are illegal) but few countries treat them as well as European countries do. |

justwise:. l thought l was the only one who saw that line, how dare u break someones leg in the Uk as an immigration officer and u still keep ur job ......that alone would have led to a serious investigation, the officers will be reprimanded and human right lawyers will use that to the advantage of the asylum seekers...... |

LondonKent: You said in your post they refused to board the plane peacefully. How are they expected to make illegals board the plane or do you think just anybody has a right to come and stay and when asked to leave simply says NO I will not board the plane? What would ANY countries Immigration Officials do to make a deportee board the plane? Any when they resisted what would happen. I note that YOU admit that when injured they were not made to leave but brought back. This is to receive medical treatment. I wonder if perhaps some other countries would just leave them on the plane to seek medical assistance when repatriated to country of origin. 1 Like |

KoloOyinbo: Nobody is saying that everybody has every right to stay in UK. I am of opinion that UK govt has every right to protect every british citizens just like every other countries around d world; UK govt has to protect its borders but in course of doing this, don't subject human beings to all sort of barbaric treatments; d treatment that UK govt wouldn't allow British dogs to be subjected into. I felt irritated and disgusted after reading through your post. Where is your sense of reasoning? So you like the way these economic immigrants have being subjected to inhuman treatments simply cos they refuse to board a plane right? You love the fact that these guys have been locked up for over a year or two years right? What a shame!!!! If British citizens who are criminals could be given a fair treatment like humans, these guys case shouldn't be different too. Whao!!!!! Can u read through the 3rd paragraph of your post over again and tell me if u still have some blood flowing through your veins. Must they beat these immigrants? Do they beat British citizens who criminals like that? What would u say about Nigerian immigration officers subjecting other nationals to this barbaric treatments? People like you would be d first person to call Nigeria a failed and undemocratic nation where human rights are not in existence. 89% of these Nigerian immigrants are graduates from different fields of discipline. |

justwise: I say nothing but d truth Am I gonna get paid for lying? No. So why should or would I lie? The last guy was from Cameroon and his name was Gabriel. He told me how he was beaten at the back of a van at the airport; he said they took him to the back of a van so as to avoid people at airport from seeing what was going on. I recalled d day he was deported cos their communal room was directly opposite my room. They came around 4am.They end up taking him to hospital from d airport. The other guy was Akinola who was carrying a big scar on his head as result of beating too; he was eventually deported to Nigeria and he was living in Jos after his arrival. I got his contact after this sad journey in deportation and I got to know he was living in Jos but that was over 8yrs ago. |

LondonKent:You don't know the meaning of barbarism, you are basically throwing words around in sentiment. Calling the treatment illegal immigrants received in the UK as barbaric is like comparing school punishment to 'IS' beheadings |

justwise: Beheading by isis and beating along taking someone's life for 2 years over immigration issue are almost similar to me. I met a brother there called Brother Sola who lost 2 of his 3 children while he was there. The two girls died in hospital in Ado-Ekiti, Nigeria due to the fact there was no money to take care of their medical bills when their father was being locked up........... He was caught at work. |

LondonKent: You need to get your head properly checked, but why are you still living in a country that treats people like that if you likened them to Islamic state? People who are in detention camp can volunteer to leave or wait to be deported, how many people detained by IS came home alive? |
Re: United Kingdom To Deport Nigerians On 24th March 2015 With A Chartered Flight by justwise(m): 12:12pm On Mar 09, 2015 |
LondonKent: Yes he was caught working illegally and detained, whose fault? British govt? People with no passport or who claimed stateless can not be deported until their country of origin can be ascertained. Even when they are about to be deported they will claim that their lives will be in danger if deported, how Boko Haram will kill them, some claimed to be Gay just to avoid deportation. People will demonstrate on their behalf etc...here you are blaming everybody else apart from people who committed the crime. |
