Is Repainting Houses Against Nigerian Culture? by Nobody: 11:02pm On Jan 16, 2009 |
Is it true that it's culturally forbidden to repaint houses in Nigeria? My mom told me that it was against Nigerian culture. If so, why? What does it signify? |
Re: Is Repainting Houses Against Nigerian Culture? by MrCrackles(m): 11:04pm On Jan 16, 2009 |
Your mum dribbled you on this one |
Re: Is Repainting Houses Against Nigerian Culture? by Nobody: 11:10pm On Jan 16, 2009 |
MrCrackles:She sent me a pic of her vacation in Lagos. Most of the paints on the houses have become all faded and nasty. So we were joking and I asked her why don't they repaint their houses. She told me that it was against the culture. I'm not sur eif she was still joking or what not. So, if so, why? |

Don't be such an unrepentant ignoramus. You are now trespassing in "girl22" territory. Your mother is feeding you the shits. |
Re: Is Repainting Houses Against Nigerian Culture? by Nobody: 11:24pm On Jan 16, 2009 |
C2H5OH:If you cannot answer the thread, I'd ask you to step off. Am not sure what shit you've been feeding on, but am sure you wouldn't want your mother to be disrespected, so respect others' mother. Now, you must not have read the topic before you jumped, but the poster implied that she was unsure of the statement. That's why she said"If so, why?". Now if you think the statement was false, the logical thing you should have done is say"No, the statement is wrong". But then, being logical is not your forte, I see. |

Sounds like something an akata would ask me that would force me to cringe and If you are in the least bit educated you would employ and make use of your thinking faculty. Damn it! |

Never heard this one before. In fact the question should be why do they paint over paint? They don't bother to scrap the old one off. Fancy pink over your green, go ahead an slap it on! Two Year later you want orange. . . what are you waiting for just start mixing paint. Everything combined to make an appalling sight!! |
Re: Is Repainting Houses Against Nigerian Culture? by Hauwa1: 1:50am On Jan 17, 2009 |

Re: Is Repainting Houses Against Nigerian Culture? by Nobody: 3:42am On Jan 19, 2009 |
tpia:Well they need to start reconsidering it as a priority because it does not make the environment look clean tpia:True that I think Nigeria should prohibit hanging clothes outside to dry. Maybe a lil washer and dryer here, but drying outside makes the place look so dirty Nigeria, we have a lot of dressing up to do. |
Re: Is Repainting Houses Against Nigerian Culture? by yicob(m): 7:27am On Jan 19, 2009 |
Maintenance culture in goverment parastatals and establishment is Zero. No Taboo in repainting houses. My house is repainted every 2 years. Those that leave their houses with crappy paint of 9 years ago or more probably could not afford the cost of repainting. To cap it all, Mumsy was only pulling your legs |
Re: Is Repainting Houses Against Nigerian Culture? by Nobody: 7:31am On Jan 19, 2009 |
yicob:I now realize it. That woman won't be gerrin a phone call from me for a while LOL, I think the government needs establish a regulation to keep the environment clean jare. No hanging of clothes outside No trashing the surroundings Bukka should be kept clean So many things needs to be done with this country |
Re: Is Repainting Houses Against Nigerian Culture? by C2H5OH(f): 7:36am On Jan 19, 2009 |
There are more important issues for the government to deal with. |
Re: Is Repainting Houses Against Nigerian Culture? by Nobody: 7:37am On Jan 19, 2009 |
C2H5OH:True that, but the scenery of the country is also important to the tourist. Govt. gets money from tourist visits, you know. |
