Biblically, some say Ham,son of Noah who was cursed to always be beneath his brothers Shem and Japhet is the father of the negro race.

OP, this is the answer to your question.. You don't need to go any further. An average African has been brainwashed to a point where he/she even believes in a book that refers to him/her as "Cursed". We don't think anymore talk less of analyse. A smart person would ponder upon your question but a brainwashed person will quote a 2000 year old story.

Still have a copy....written by Walter Rodney of French Guyana. ...

Even the author, while blaming the Europeans/ West for our backwardness, didn't fail to state clearly that we are also very responsible for our backward state as a people .

A teacher asked his students,
1+1= ?.
A student stood up and said 4. A semi illiterate man passing by overheard the response, shook his head and said: " PDP has killed us in this country Everything has increased; transport fare, fuel pump price, cost of foodstuff, electricity tariff, ... everything.
Even 1+1 that used to be 2 has now gone up to 4.

Africa was developing just like the rest of the world until the Europeans can with bibles, quarans and guns. A white explorer once compelled the streets of Benin (Edo State) to those of Amsterdam. The main reason they came was to steal every good thing from the land of the "monkeys". They succeeded in stealing natural resources and the raw strength of the African society through the infamous slave trade.

Human and natural resources became abundant in their land, while their land was witnessing fast growth, that of Africa was stagnant. Thus, the gap between Africa and the Western world.

Before our "mumu" forefathers could realize it, the gap was already too wide. The "whites" till date are making sure this gap never closes... They abolished slave trade and invented mental slavery. They made themselves masters to us, they gave us "dependent independence". Today, the best of the best brains in Africa work tirelessly to even widen this gap. Our best doctors, footballers, engineers, accountants etc willingly go to the white man's land....continuining the supposedly abolished slave trade while our political leaders (another invention of the white man) willingly steal money from the continent to the rest of the world... pouring water into the already filled cup.

To every African that captured and sold his or her brother/sister into slavery, may whatever he or she believed in torment him/her. May whatever created this Universe punish any African who steals the wealth of the already impoverished African to the rest of the world.

OP, you should read "How Europe underdeveloped Africa" by Walter Rodney.

NB: I feel our forefathers where "mumuish" cos if it were the blacks that went to Europe to steal, they would most likely not succeed. They should have understood the white man's mission from the beginning instead of selling the strongest of their kind into slavery. Some of them resisted the white man though!

Oh ye black man. Brainwashed into believing he is inferior. Echoing racial subjugation cliches purposefully orchestrated to mentally subjugate him as inferior.

Listen, Civilization started from Africa. The earliest human civilization started in Egypt at about 3000BC when the ancient black egyptians gathered together to form a civilization, out of which came the egyptian pyramids (an architectural wonder of sort with to such a wonderful precision which still dazzles modern science of today), mathematics, philosophy, astrology, philosophy etc. Egypt was at its might during ancient times and can be likened to the position of America in the world today. Nationals from Rome, Greece, Persia, paid visits to Egypt to learn from her civilization. The earliest 'white' civilization is traced to the Romans and Greeks who were to surface in world history in 800BC i.e. about 2200 years after the Egyptian civilization. The Romans and Greeks learned from Egyptian temple priests and took their knowledge with them back to Rome and Greece where they wrote their books and equally admitted in their books that they learned from the egyptian priests first hand. Ancient Egyptians were already practising mathematics (the pythagoras theorem with which they used to build the pyramids. The pythagoras theory in mathematics which is wrongly attributed to Pythagoras actually came from the Egyptians for they knew that the longest side of a right angled triangle can be taken from the square root of the sum of the squares of the lengths of the other 2 sides. They had formulas for finding the area of shapes etc). 2000 years later, Egypt was invaded by the romans, their temples destroyed and their books and knowledge carted away. Egypt fell under Roman occupation and became a colony of Rome from about 300BC to 4AD/5AD when the Roman empire fell and Europe was plunged into intellectual darkness.

Thus the Romans lost the knowledge which they had learned from the Egyptians, marking the beginning of the dark ages (also known as the middle ages - a period characterized by stuntness in growth of useful world learning and advancement) until year 711 when the black moors of North Africa who were Muslims invaded Spain through the Strait of Gibraltar and conquered Spain, Portugal and the Southern Part of France, establishing the Islam religion in Iberia (Portugal, Spain, France). The moors took knowledge with them to Europe and brought again learning and civilization to Europe.

The Spanish occupation by the Moors began in 711 AD when an African army, under their leader Tariq ibn-Ziyad, crossed the Strait of Gibraltar from northern Africa and invaded the Iberian peninsula ‘Andalus' (Spain under the Visigoths).

2. A European scholar sympathetic to the Spaniards remembered the conquest in this way:

a. [T]he reins of their (Moors) horses were as fire, their faces black as pitch, their eyes shone like burning candles, their horses were swift as leopards and the riders fiercer than a wolf in a sheepfold at night . . . The noble Goths [the German rulers of Spain to whom Roderick belonged] were broken in an hour, quicker than tongue can tell. Oh luckless Spain! [i]

[i] Quoted in Edward Scobie, The Moors and Portugal's Global Expansion, in Golden Age of the Moor, ed Ivan Van Sertima, US, Transaction Publishers, 1992, p.336

3. The Moors, who ruled Spain for 800 years, introduced new scientific techniques to Europe, such as an astrolabe, a device for measuring the position of the stars and planets. Scientific progress in Astronomy, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geography and Philosophy flourished in Moorish Spain

4. Basil Davidson, one of the most noted historians recognized and declared that there were no lands at that time (the eighth century) "more admired by its neighbours, or more comfortable to live in, than a rich African civilization which took shape in Spain"

5. At its height, Córdova, the heart of Moorish territory in Spain, was the most modern city in Europe. The streets were well-paved, with raised sidewalks for pedestrians. During the night, ten miles of streets were well illuminated by lamps. (This was hundreds of years before there was a paved street in Paris or a street lamp in London.) Cordova had 900 public baths - we are told that a poor Moor would go without bread rather than soap!

6. The Great Mosque of Córdoba (La Mezquita) is still one of the architectural wonders of the world in spite of later Spanish disfigurements. Its low scarlet and gold roof, supported by 1,000 columns of marble, jasper and and porphyry, was lit by thousands of brass and silver lamps which burned perfumed oil.

7. Education was universal in Moorish Spain, available to all, while in Christian Europe ninety-nine percent of the population were illiterate, and even kings could neither read nor write. At that time, Europe had only two universities, the Moors had seventeen great universities! These were located in Almeria, Cordova, Granada, Juen, Malaga, Seville, and Toledo.

8. In the tenth and eleventh centuries, public libraries in Europe were non-existent, while Moorish Spain could boast of more than seventy, of which the one in Cordova housed six hundred thousand manuscripts.

9. Over 4,000 Arabic words and Arabic-derived phrases have been absorbed into the Spanish language. Words beginning with "al," for example, are derived from Arabic. Arabic words such as algebra, alcohol, chemistry, nadir, alkaline, and cipher entered the language. Even words such as checkmate, influenza, typhoon, orange, and cable can be traced back to Arabic origins.

10. The most significant Moorish musician was known as Ziryab (the Blackbird) who arrived in Spain in 822. The Moors introduced earliest versions of several instruments, including the Lute or el oud, the guitar or kithara and the Lyre. Ziryab changed the style of eating by breaking meals into separate courses beginning with soup and ending with desserts.

11. The #Moors introduced paper to Europe and Arabic numerals, which replaced the clumsy Roman system.

12. The Moors introduced many new crops including the orange, lemon, peach, apricot, fig, sugar cane, dates, ginger and pomegranate as well as saffron, sugar cane, cotton, silk and rice which remain some of Spain's main products today.

13. The Moorish rulers lived in sumptuous palaces, while the monarchs of Germany, France, and England dwelt in big barns, with no windows and no chimneys, and with only a hole in the roof for the exit of smoke. One such Moorish palace ‘Alhambra' (literally "the red one"wink in Granada is one of Spain's architectural masterpieces. Alhambra was the seat of Muslim rulers from the 13th century to the end of the 15th century. The Alhambra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site

14. It was through Africa that the new knowledge of China, India, and Arabia reached Europe The #Moors brought the Compass from China into Europe.

15. The Moors ruled and occupied Lisbon (named "Lashbuna" by the Moors) and the rest of the country until well into the twelfth century. They were finally defeated and driven out by the forces of King Alfonso Henriques. The scene of this battle was the Castelo de Sao Jorge or the 'Castle of St. George.'

Moorish Chief

Spain (Europe) and Morocco (Africa) are so close together that you can see both countries from each side of each continent:
http://i.imgur.com/9NTwF.jpg?1[/img]

You could literally cross over from Morocco into Spain by speed boat in less than 10 minutes.

The Moors brought enormous learning to Spain that over centuries would percolate through the rest of Europe.

The intellectual achievements of the Moors in Spain had a lasting effect; education was universal in Moorish Spain, while in Christian Europe, 99 percent of the population was illiterate, and even kings could neither read nor write. At a time when Europe had only two universities, the Moors had seventeen, located in Almeria, Cordova, Granada, Juen, Malaga, Seville, and Toledo.

In the 10th and 11th centuries, public libraries in Europe were non-existent, while Moorish Spain could boast of more than 70, including one in Cordova that housed hundreds of thousands of manuscripts. Universities in Paris and Oxford were established after visits by scholars to Moorish Spain.

It was this system of education, taken to Europe by the Moors, that seeded the European Renaissance and brought the continent out of the 1,000 years of intellectual and physical gloom of the Middle Ages.

After the end of the Moorish period in Iberia (Europe) came the Renaissance period, marked by the revival of interest and learning in arts and science. Europe grew and expanded ever since.

The Moors ruled for over 800 years in Europe until 1492 when they were finally expelled from Spain by Isabella back to Morocco. By 1800 America (the new world) was coming into world power. The expellation of the moors (blacks) was a great victory for the whites in the history of whites. The period of Moorish presence in Spain began the signification of 'black' as evil (the domination of islam over christianity in spain and consequently 'black', being the colour of the moors, being synonymous with the islam religion), thus giving birth to the earliest racial sentiments against the black people. It is said that before the Moors left they handed over a map of how to get to the Americas. 8 months later in 1492 using the map handed over to him, Columbus set out for his voyage to America (the new world) where he met the Red Indians. Transatlantic slavery of black africans was soon to start immediately, in early 1500s and reaching its peak between 1600 and 1700s and ending in the 1800s.

The dominion of the blacks in spain was something europe was never to have again. Thus began the subjugation of the black african people as 'lower' beings, blotting of the african history and rewriting of history, attribution of earliest human inventions to people of caucasian origin (philosophy attributed to aristotle who mentioned that he learned from the egyptians, pythagoras theorem which the ancient egyptians used in building the pyramids attributed pythagoras a greek man etc), the attempts to 'white-wash' ancient egypt and claim its civilization to be 'white' civilization or non-african or 'aryan' despite overwhelming evidence seen from the mummies of dead pharoahs, egyptian depictions of themselves as a black people, egyptian reference to themselves as 'kemet' (black, khawm, ham), DNA and skin test evidence performed on some of these mummies that revealed sub-saharan ancestry and high melanin pigmentation (blacks have high melanin content in their skin, whites lack melanin. Melanin is responsible for the colouration of the human body) etc that prove the ancient egyptians were a black people.

One of the earliest universities in the world is the University of Timbuktu in Mali but you will never hear of this part of history. It has been totally ignored and sidelined and European universities glorified instead.

The Renaissance period of Europe saw the representation of several African figures as whites. In Christianity, Jesus Christ and His Mother, Mary, who were black were represented as white people. The Pope in Rome, obviously knowing the truth, prays in front of a black mother mary and baby jesus. Beethoven who was described as a 'blackamor' is said to have been represented as 'white'. The 18th century saw the rise and spread of white superiority and black inferiority theories all over Europe and America. Several tactics have been used to ingrain mentally into the black people of some 'inferiority' complex, which unfortunately till today, majority of blacks are still suffering from it. They have been told several times without number that they are 'inferior' and incapable of performing great things that they have come to believe it as true. Infact, some blacks would not even want to attempt greatness or invention because they believe their brains are incapable of doing such.

Till today, blacks are still suffering from this mentality and there has been several calls for blacks to emancipate themselves from mental slavery. You are no longer physically bound by chains but mentally you still think you are. However, some blacks are beginning to awaken to their original self. With knowledge, self-realization is restored, and there comes with it power of the mind and self.

When fools with lazy arse can not spend time and effort to research and investigate sh1t out like the likes of me have done for years and are still doing, they come here to ask sh1tty questions in order to arouse self-hatred.

Your question isn't really a question, it is a presentation that presumes to assert a Eurocentric belief system which you've been fed since infancy like the majority of Africans on this platform.

Forumites who knows sh1t shouldn't fuel this guy's intention to provoke unnecessary racial-like arguments. If he's unable to go conduct research on his own for he knows not where to begin, sources and books can be recommended to him.

Go read How Europe Underdeveloped Africa like someone suggested, go read The Lost Science of Africa, go read God Is Black by Naiwo Osahon, go read all of Cheikh Antah Diop's books and in the meantime you may begin with the following thread to clear some incorrect notions troubling your thoughts.
