There is something else to this story though. How can a girl just hit a man's hand and next thing is for him to beat her up without any prior issue between them. That means his tolerance level is low. A real man should be able to curb his temper before it gets to the point of beating up his lady. At best he should walk away. I think you should think long and hard before proceeding with that marriage. I feel if he was truly not cheating his reaction would have been different.
Now you have a case of a man who may be a cheat and at the same time may be violent. That is a very bad combination. Once they start beating you, its often hard for them to stop. If you can be happy with his apologies after every beating then go ahead.

Why do women always fail to acknowledge their position as d weaker sex? no matter how fierce a lioness may look, it can never equal d cheerful disposition of a lion.

Men were made to be more aggressive than women, women were supposed to be more tolerant, because of their role as a mother, but today, d converse is d case, women are quick to insult, slap, hit a man, when they know fully well dat they can't match a man when it comes to physical combat. From what I can deduce from ur story, u incited d rift, why did u hit his hand in d first place? u should have confronted him without allowing it to degenerate into physical altercation. his action was as a result of ur action, u instigated d punch-up by hitting him, u have no reason or whatsoever to hit him, since u knw u wouldn't want him to hit u either, moreover ur suspicion is still on a baseless perspective.

I will advise u to forgive him wholeheartedly, because ur move prompted him to act d way he did, & I believe any reasonable man would have done same. Don't mar ur relationship on account of a baseless, improbable suspicion...

How are we sure it is his hand you hit?
Didn't your fada/moda teach you to keep your hands to yourself during an argument?
Define beat. Did he simply slap you back after slapping him?

Next time, don't introduce physicality to a hot argument. Especially after, as women do, you have likely already began insulting him and his entire lineage.
