The acronym IVAS means INEC Voters Authentication System. It is a device which is specially designed for the electronic authentication of voters on Polling Day.
It adopts the Dual Core Cortex – A7 CPU with ARM ultra-low power consumption.
It has a single core frequency of 1.2GHz and an Android 4.2.2 operating system.

Usage In the Election Process: The Card Reader is used to Authenticate voters eligibility to vote at the Polling Unit/Voting Point where the card Reader was assign to. Hence if you register at Unit A, Unit B card will not Authenticate you to Vote.

Benefit in determine Election Fraud
A Poling Unit Card Reader as Record of all Registered Voters, and during Accreditation if your card does not belongs to that Unit the Reader will not record your Accreditation Process. But if you PVC belongs to that Unit, Two things is expected.

1. The Card Reader Will Record Successful Accreditation (i.e. PVC and Fingerprint was read)
2. The Card Reader Will Record Unsuccessful Accreditation (i.e. PVC read but Fingerprint was not read)

At the end of Polling/Voting The cumulative record will be sent to the server, this will be the total number of Accredited Voters (Note: there is option to accredit voter in the case 2 above refers to "Manual Accreditation"

This cumulative record (Successful and Unsuccessful) will be used against the Record provided by each polling unit, if at the end of Polling, the record on the Record sheet is greater that the record sent to the server, the result of that Unit will be annulled (sign of Multiple voting)

In a short note, the Card reader must have the total numbers of Voters accredited which must be equal or greater than numbers of vote. This will help in detecting multiple voting. that is just the work of the INEC Card Readr
