Zone Tribe Religion this is the criteria used by our leaders to pick who leads this country. Obj- Atiku Yar adua-Gej Gej-Sambo Buhari-Osibanjo now look at how zone is used two south-obj, Gej two north-YarAdua, And now Buhari 2) now unto religion- none has been the same since the pairing began. The rotation is complete now. But we dont know the pattern they sold the future of this nation to north now has power, south takes it next or north goes twice(irrespective of term) then south? 3) Tribe- an Igbo man to become president? This is one of ?? Im now realizing is part of the devilish deal way back after that war. Alot of selling out by the so-called "heroes past" which ONLY a few are able to hear about. Well......(shrugs) i just wish a 3rd neutral party gains ground to make these two rear up to reality. The North made it more obvious than the South. Hmm LHM |

ikenga67:Nwanne, without been bias GEJ has done well for Ndi Igbo more than any other previous Governments in Nigeria. If for Nothing else our sons and daughters has risen to enviable positions under his administration, we have an international Airport in Igboland thanks to GEJ. I can go on and on. Our interests are better protected with Goodluck. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Quick question: In 2011, the entire SW and North Central (Taraba and Plateau and co) overwhelmingly voted for GEJ. In 2015, the same regions gave their votes to Buhari. So why are you people now calling them tribalistic? And yeah, us SS people don't align ourselves with Igbo politics. Some of it is tribal but a lot of the animosity stems from the fact you guys are constantly claiming us "our brothers and our cousins" and there is a lot of dominancy to that claim. It makes us uncomfortable (an example of that is when Igbos meet me and expect me to speak Igbo, when I tell them I'm not, they brush it aside and tell me "you are as good as Igbo" as if my identity and culture don't matter. I don't care how similar you think we are, please respect that difference. I don't call everything above the Niger Hausa-Fulani, why should you call SS your kinsman without them welcoming it? ) An Urhobo man won a seat in Lagos, yet all I'm hearing is "Igbos are growing their clout in Lagos", because apparently his tribal identity is now Igbo (btw I'm from his constituency, he was winning Yoruba votes and not Igbo). My mum queued up for hours to vote GEJ. If it had been an Igbo candidate, she would have realised her back would hurt from all that standing, there would probably be violence at the poll and used quite a lot of excuses to stay at home. Same thing with my relatives and a lot of SS voters. You constantly lament about being victims of tribalism yet are tribalistic. GEJ got his largest number of votes from SS states and everyone there feels Igbos let him down by not turning out massively to support him. Because they (and i) kept hearing from so many Igbos "GEJ is our man" and no other reason backed it up save misplaced tribal sentiment. No Igbo state could give him up to 800, 000 votes yet here you all are, still arguing and beating your chests. You've proved you cannot be relied on by any political party attempting to court you (even the SW you're insulting gave him more votes and if I'm a politician now, I will certainly brush up on my Hausa because those guys are loyal ) I'm not starting a war, just being truthful. 18 Likes 5 Shares |

shortgun: Internatioal airport I will not even touch? As for the people he appointed into office, they will soon all be private citizens in Lagos/Abuja and trying to warm their ways into the good books of GMB. I ask you directly, is the primary interest of the Igbos in just having their own in temporary possitions? Do you care about the lack of security in Igboland? What has GEJ done to address that? Do you care about the brain drain from Igboland? Do you care about the worsening crony-capitalism that is destroying the Igboman's natural competitive advantage? Are you concerned about the impact of the deepening corruption on our ability to project our enterprising spirit? or you just want Okonjo Iweal for Finance Minister and Ihejiriaka as COAS? 7 Likes 1 Share |

The presidential election is over and I expect Ndigbo to move on with their lives not minding what haters are saying about them and the choice they made in supporting Gej.There is nothing Ndigbo will do to please nigerians,if we split our votes they will accuse of disunity and when we vote in block they will screem tribalism.meanwhile this is the first time yorubas have voted for a winning party at federal level since 1960 they have always voted for their regional partiy and they call it political sophistication. Ndigbo are not in Nigeria to live up to other tribes expectations.....Nigerians should quite judging us in every step we take if this coubtry must move forward.finally, congratulations to the president elect, Gen Buhari and Apc and nigerians in general. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

splashbaby:just what it seems. Since the abortion of biafra the igbos have made theirselves sidelined by picking out northerners and the Yorubas as enemies and will not subject to logical reasoning but rather assume that my enemy's enemy is my friend even when they stand no chance to gain anything from giving such support; I've been previlege to have words with a lot of igbo people and can confirm that most of them still smart from the botched biafran seccession and as such conditioned their thinking and decision making on this subject matter. If anyone question Yoruba not supporting Jonathan then I'll ask if he was not massively voted for in the west in 2011 and still got significant numbers even now; while he was acting president even while certain figures from his tribe disowned himt the Yoruabas stood by him and fought against the forces of the cabals 7 Likes 1 Share |

ikenga67:I think it's time I also ask you a questions : what has previous governments before Goodluck done for the Igbos? To answer some of your questions : Federal government cannot provide security for all ; other regions have more security problems. Am surprised that that you refer to the Igbos as corrupt. Igbos that were given appointments were on merit and federal character. 3 Likes |

focus7: I think you are very wrong with your assertion...In fact, if not for anything, its the SW that made nonsense of their electoral value, with non-Yorubas winning elections in Lagos, and the very low voter-turnout, (about 4.4m voters across 6 six states), despite having more stake in this election. I still salute the spirit of people in SE, who tried to make it a contest between the parties, despite not having anyone on the ticket of either PDP or APC and also been short-changed in govt's developmental projects so far. That said, I still believe that SE political leaders must seriously begin to invest their energy in a party that protect their interest. This has always been my personal opinion, especially as it is now obvious that the Hausa-Fulani would always vote their own, irrespective of any other logic. The defeat of President Jonathan, I insist, is very-much ethnically motivated and has nothing to do with Buhari been a better choice!! Its time for SE, and by extension, Ndigbo to secure their interests in APGA, and use it as a bargaining chip to negotiate political power with other regional blocks. Had it been such was the situation BEFORE this election, I doubt if any Presidential candidate in this country will win during the first ballot.... |

IGBO ARE HYPOCRITE. SOUTH SOUTH AND SOUTH EAST VOTED BASED ON ETHNICITY... JONATHAN WAS STILL ABLE TO PULL NUMBER OF VOTES IN NORTH AND SOUTH WEST. IN NASARRAWA, GOODLUCK WON. IN KOGI, JONATHAN RAN AT THE SAME NECK WITH BUHARI. IN TARABA, GOODLUCK WON. IN SOUTH WEST, GOODLUCK WON ONLY IN EKITI. IN OTHER 5 STATES IN SOUTH WEST, GOODLUCK ALSO RAN AT NECK WITH BUHARI (ONLY ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GOODLUCK AND BUHARI YORUBA VOTED BASED ON NEUTRAL GROUND. IN SOUTH SOUTH AND SOUTH EAST, GOODLUCK FLOORED BUHARI. SOUTH AND SOUTH VOTED BASED ON ETHNICITY BUT THEY'RE OVERPOWERED BY NORTH AND SOUTH WEST. DON'T SEEK FOR EMPATHY AT ALL. EVEN BEFORE THE ELECTION IT WAS GLARING THAT SOUTH SOUTH AND SOUTH EAST WILL VOTE FOR JONATHAN..... THIS IS A SIGN TO IGBO THAT YORUBA IS MORE SOPHISTICATED THAN IGBO IN ALL RAMIFICATIONS.. YORUBA DOESN'T OWN IGBO ANYTHING, KOBO, DIME. 8 Likes 1 Share |

nduchucks: Lol. We are on the same page. No victor, no vanquished. But on a more serious note, it's a good development for Nigeria and all Nigerians, regardless of region or religion, should celebrate. I also hope we can really grow PDP to be a formidable opposition party so we can sustain this two-party system. NEVER again should we go back to regional parties. 3 Likes |

ikenga67: You have actually spoken well, Afam's post is nothing to write home about. The Igbos need to understand that having your sons and daughters in places of high position is not what you require, it will be better to have none and get developments than have some without anything coming to your region. One other thing that grates with most people is this air of superiority, why not allow others to say you are exceptional, those who can see will always acknowledge good traits when they see one. The Igbo nation supported GEJ in order to spite the SW and the North, the one thing they did not realise was that the SE vote is not significant in the scheme of things, a better attitude would have been to give some votes to APC and some to PDP, even if it is 4 to 1 or 3 to 2, thank God for the Okorochas and the Ngiges, I am very sure they will fight for the interest of their regions not their pockets, we need each region to be strong and formidable, no region must be left behind in our quest for development. 1 Like |
