Getting a job could be so frustrating and depressing. I remember the days of my joblessness, so many times, I had blamed hubby for my jobless status. Like, if not for marriage, I would have still be in the bank bla bla bla. In other for hubby to survive my perpetual nagging, he surprised me with a Placard on our gate *Buy your cold kunu here* lol. He said to me, 'Baby your kunu taste really good, why dont you give it a trial'. I was like, what? He was like 'Too late, its on the gate'. Before I knew it, people started knocking my gate for kunu. I couldnt tell anyone I was selling kunu in the north but I was never broke. Hubby was relieved, no more nagging lol. There are also days that no one comes to buy kunu. Men and Women around mocked me. I was called a Kunu seller. What do I do when Jobs around were offering 8 - 10k monthly. I prayed and fasted for my status to change. I was hopeful that God has heared me. To God be The Glory, I'm not employed by anyone, I'm self employed. To the Glory of God, My status is Changed #GodWin. From kunu seller to an Agro Allied Owner with its offices in Sokoto, Lagos and a Ware House in Ogun state.
Op, I feel moved to help 5 persons here. I dont have money to give, but I can give what will help secure your future if willing and determined.
Please JUST 5 SINCERE PERSONS WHO FINDS IT REALLY DIFFICULT TO SURVIVE.

A thread definitely worth posting in.
I get bothered when I read job seeker comments on Nairaland, there is always an underlying "you need to have connection to get a job". That mind set gets people lazy....starting from their CVs', couple of times I have gotten CVs of job seekers asking for help, I make comments and ask them to update and they never come back. I'm sure their mindset is "abeg, help me if you want Jo".
Next, how would you walk into an interview without being ready, spend time praying for favor and also spend time preparing for interviews, interviews are more scientific than luck based when you are well prepared.
I work in a prime oil and gas firm, like 4 were selected in pbly like 5000 that took the test, the general consensus at the test venue was "all Na fake, aw many would they take", deep in my mind, I kept saying to myself, until God says no, I wont say no...lesson, don't bother going if you are convinced the job cant be yours, positivity does not hurt.
I didn't know anyone, I got the job....truth is the very best jobs in Nigeria are given to the very best hands, those jobs are too high profiled to be peddled via connections.
Be the best at all you do, academics (it does not hurt to get a first class), treat every job test like a last opportunity, every interview should be prepared for with every ounce of research. And for each job on the way to the dream job, sink your all to it.
Anybody who preaches shortcuts ain't been real, the easiest way to the dream career is hard work from the first university course you take, and forget what they all say, hardwork still pays in Nigeria

I only thing I read here is "I have BSc., Masters, Professional Certs, Grad with 2.1 or first class, etc". This is what is killing Nigeria - Qualifications everywhere. It's good but any company that will recruit you may look beyond your qualifications.

I am expecting the unemployed to they can do to help the company. For example, someone who study marketing should list the best way a company in a particular product line can achieve maximum market share thus increase profitability. A practical example is the Guiness new product called "Orijin" which is fast selling in the market. Another is NBC's coca-cola product with names pre-print, I can look for my name, wife's, children, etc. This convert to sales for the company.

Just think, think, think. Truth is that many companies want to grow their profit with lowest cost possible, so they may not think of qualifications per se especially the production/manufacturing companies or those into merchandising.
