various women group in nigeria operating under the platform of ''Change International Network'' has requested the in-coming Buhari led federal Government a 50% appointment in all the various political offices across the country.

The women group which is made up of over 100 body had on Thursday,April 16th had a meeting in Abuja, where issues bordering on achieving the said target were discussed.

The woman Coordinator of the group, mrs Felicia Onibon stated that, women across the country had worked tirelessly to make Buhari's success at the presidential poll a reality.

Mrs Felicia, speaking at the meeting said,
“the meeting today is to tell the president-elect that he must put women in his cabinet. We are looking at 50%; if we are able to get that, fine, but if not, it should be 35%”.
“We have eight senators and 17 House of Representatives members, which is very low but at the same time encouraging, considering that we had over 20 in the last dispensation.”

She also expressed joy over women participation in the just concluded poll across the country, she said,
“Women participation in the election was fantastic; a lot of women came out to vote and what we have seen so far outweighs our expectations. We were not expecting anything near it considering what happened at the primaries where we felt women would not show up and we would not have had the turnout we had.”she concluded

The last international document (proposed by the UN) which Nigeria ratified/ signed is '35 percent affirmative action for women in appointments and elective positions.' Even 36 percent is a no go area. Finally I bind the poster above me for his biased comments.
