Prostitution: Women Demand Apology From Betty Obaseki by sinistermind(m): 5:48am On Sep 12, 2016
Women drawn from different organisations at a meeting in Benin City at the weekend put Mrs. Betty Obaseki, the wife of the APC candidate to task. She was put on the spot over a statement, credited to her in which she faulted past PDP administrations for contributing to the problem of prostitution among the women of the state.

They also asked her to tender an unreserved apology in all national dailies even as they called on all women in the state to rally round the PDP governorship candidate in the governorship election because he has demonstrated through the conduct and utterances of his wife, Idia, a University Professor, that he is a caring husband, father, and pastor.
Addressing the women, Deaconess Regina Oviasu said that it was worrisome that the same woman wants to lead Edo women she has tagged prostitutes.

She said, “I want to stand and say that Mrs. Obaseki should apologise to all Edo women as mothers, wives, sisters, and daughters for the statement she made. She does not know Edo women. An Edo woman has integrity. She commands respect. She is hardworking. I think it’s a slip of the tongue on her part, and she must apologise”.

Also speaking, former Executive Director of the Edo State Poverty Alleviation Agency in the APC government, Chief Evelyn Igbafe who used the event to announce her decision to pitch tent with the PDP, called on all women voters in the state to vote against the APC. She said, “We are not happy that a woman who has a husband who wants to be the governor of Edo state will tag Edo women as prostitutes. We reject her aspiration. She can never become the first lady of Edo State. We will not close our eyes and allow such a woman who is not even from Edo State to tarnish our hard earned image”. Other women who spoke along the same line acknowledged that Edo had produced great women who are renown all over the world for their industry like Dr. Margaret Idahosa, Apostle Eunice Osagiede, and Mrs. Margaret Agbonifo, who are leading evangelists known globally.

Hmmm
They should better look for a way to apologize, before all the women turn their back on them.

Sympathy votes swaying PDP way. But I still remember Mrs. Aisha Buhari made a similar comment before 2015 general elections. After winning the fraud filled election, she has become Edo women heroine.

It would seem PDP always enjoy telling the people to lie to themselves. Same way they made this matter an issue when Aisha Buhari promised government solutions to the matter of prostitution by Edo females.

Is there a problem of prostitution among the women of the state?
Must an incoming government do something about it or it should be left to fester?
Must it always be a political crime to talk about it? Or who is qualified to talk about it?

When prostitution becomes a crime with capital punishment like drug trafficking, maybe Edo women will be the ones begging to be helped then.

Obviously, the shameless PDP will still have something to say for political gains.

You remember those campaign days of Buhari and APC leading to the 2015 elections. Aisha Buhari made this same mistake and still APC won.

Then every APC supporter kept on saying that even if Buhari present a Nepa bill certificate they will still vote him. Buhari and his wife kept on making mistakes and Zombies were all saying the would vote an illiterate...my brother one year down the line....after seeing Buhari a big disaster...you think Edo would still vote this woman for calling them prostitutes. Continue saying PDP used the same pattern when Aisha Buhari called Edo women prostitute and Buhari still won....Now, that sentiment can't work again.

Even Buhari would have to show his certificate if he is going for second term in 2019.....because most Zombies like Oby Ezekwesilly's eye has opened. You do anyhow you see anyhow now

Even though they have lost the election, they still continue to de-market that failure called Obaseki.
